They need to change the rules so that a failed drug test results in a DQ loss.

Me too. Ogawa's in camp now preparing for his first defense. Sure throws a wrench in that plan.

Sounds like we will probably have a NC with Ogawa vs Farmer & maybe get Farmer vs Tank for the vacant title. Bet Floyd is working on that as we speak.

Jr. Lightweight is just not the same without TMT Tank Davis at the top of the division.

The funniest in all this is that I won a few Euros by betting on Ogawa... thank you, PEDs and corrupted judges!

No Contest strip Ogawa and let Farmer fight another ranked fighter for the vacant title.

Well why don't we just analyze things logically and allow that to naturally reveal the "dumbass?"

If it was a conspiracy to hand the belt to Farmer, why didn't they just score him as the winner? After all, the vast majority of ringside experts had him clearly winning the fight.

What sense does it make to incorrectly score him as the loser, only to supposedly "falsely" fail his opponent on a drug test? Lying about the drug test result, or worse, tampering with his sample to cause an actual failure, would involve the cooperation of numerous people involved in the chain of custody. You would need corruption on many levels, involving in house cooperation and co-conspirators from an independent third party.

Seems like a lot of trouble to go through when you could instead just score the fight accurately?

Perhaps analysis of the facts exposes you as the dumbass?

No trust in the organisations to be honest, how many fighters have failed a drug test and they still don't ban them or turn their previous win into a no contest. If fact we have one fighting this weekend in Pederson...

How to handle failures isn't always a cut and dry issue. First of all, the majority of top fighters are bending the rules if not flat out breaking them. Second, even if you catch them, there is often a plausible explanation. Hard to know if someone was deliberately cheating when there are so many tainted supplements, legitimate medical conditions that require (or benefit from) banned medications or methods.

The failed athletes usually lawyer up and force some sort of settlement as these governing bodies and athletic commissions usually can't afford extended litigation.
