Wishful thinking. Thats 1 of the very few things I like about the UFC more than boxing, they can get a replacement the day of. In order for a high level boxer to fight a new opponent there would need to be weeks if not months of negotiations.
Hey man the Mayweather mcgregor circus is over. Go to mmascene with all this pro mma talk jive ass!
Lmao what? Are you serious? Fights are postponed due to injury all the time rarely do you see replacement fightersfor those fights
I think with the roster of fighters Haymon has, he can always have a backup ready to go. We are 3 weeks out from the event. There are pros that take fights on short notice all the time, especially the guys that stay in the gym.
Reading through this thread, it looks like the injury is an excuse for low ticket sales. If Mikey is only generating that level of sales then a replacement doesn't really matter.
I understand, but can you imagine SHOBOX, filling in with a replacement? people would go crazy(myself included)saying it was the plan from the beginning and put mikey against a nobody.
Ding ding ding. Just because ufc finds some bum to replace a injured fighter doesn’t mean boxing have to adopt that strategy. As soon as the fight is over boxing fans would just talk about how the fighter fought a bum.

What about what other boxing fans would say? They might appreciate not having a whole card cancelled, especially if its a fighter they really want to see.
You mentioned UFC. I wasn't suggesting copy them but even if you disagree with me you can't argue that is good customer service. Because they have always done this, fans seem to appreciate it.
I get it if this is a PPV, but this is SHO fight that seems designed to showcase Mikey.

That is great customer service actually. I’m not saying you suggested copy ufc I was referring to other posters who’ve mentioned ufc. It’s a great idea but it has too many grey areas. Boxing fans are perfectionist they aren’t going to be fond of a guy ranked in the bottom of top 20 replacing a legit challenger. It would be all type of conspiracy theories
