Makes sense. Povetkin Vs Joshua is probably going to happen, so this way they give Povetkin some exposure to any UK fans who don't know him.

Him Vs Chisora is probably a better fight than Price. Although i'd fully expect Povetkin to beat either.

BS, New Zealand and Alabama population is the same, Wilder doesn't have any more fans than Parker.

Why already try and get Potvetkin into the picture?
It depends on what the WBA & WBO say because Povetkin’s win over Hammer doubled as a WBO/WBA final eliminator. He is the mando for both belts. He can go either route. There is also the Charr/Oquendo winner to consider. The winner of that WBA regular fight has 20 months i believe to invoke their shot. The winner of that fight may push for their shot asap. Especially if Fres wins somehow. He’ll want to cash out. Wilder/Ortiz winner could be waiting until 2019 like was rumoured all along.

          What do you mean?

Vitali's fight vs. Charr and Kevin Johnson was not live in America.
They were showed on tape delay.

And no. The Shannon Briggs fight was NOT on ESPN.

My mistake. You are right. The fight has not yet been given a TV broadcaster.

So yeah, it could be on CBS as you say.

[QUOTE=WBC WBA IBF;18412430]None of his fights have been shown live in the US. Either tape delay, no TV at all, or youtube. Find me a WBC heavyweight champion in history that has ever happened to. Ever. You can't. But it's happened many times to WBO heavyweight champions because the networks don't value the title as much.

I'm not saying whether he is or he isn't. I'm just saying that it's VERY common and you have no idea what he's making.

If Wilder & AJ both win in March, fight Breazeale & Povetkin in the Summer and win, then meet on PPV in November for the undisputed championship, I have no doubt in my mind it break 300k PPV. I'd bet my life on it.

Answer me this... Why isn't Wilder vs Ortiz on PPV? If there's all this money to be made by Wilder, why aren't they giving the fight the PPV treatment?

If Parker is as big a star as Wilder, would Parker vs Ortiz be on PPV?

Haymon is trying to kill off PPV except for very rare exceptions. Wilder vs Ortiz is scheduled for CBS because CBS is the #1 channel in the United States and Haymon is trying to reach the widest audience possible.
His fights haven't been shown live in the US because he has the WBO title? And they would be shown if he had the WBC?

That has to be one of the maddest comments I've ever had the misfortune to witness. You are talking utter crap.

So Haymon is trying to kill off PPV so he won't put Wilder vs Ortiz on that platform, but he's going to put it on that platform for Wilder vs AJ?

I'll keep this simple... **** off you nutter.

curious question, but do english fighters really only follow english fighters? I don't know how UK fans wouldn't know the worlds top ranked HW fighter (title holders excluded) who fought Klitchko just a couple years ago.

Yes it was. Live on ESPN3, slight delay on ESPN Deportes and then shown on the proper ESPN primary channel. I still have the fight on my DVR.

Joshua vs Wilder will be the biggest fight in boxing soon. Right before... and after their upcoming title defenses. Joshua vs Parker would be the 14th-20th biggest fight in boxing.

I feel that a lot of Eddie Hearn's target audience for his Joshua PPV's can be deemed as casual fans. So if Hearns were to get Povetkin on his card, the fans who will be buying a possible Joshua - Povetkin fight will get a little taster of him.

An ideal situation for Hearn would probably be Povetkin knocking out Price, looking dangerous and appealing to Joshua's casual fans in a future match-up.

To try answer your question mate, as a whole the uk boxing fans (hardcore fans) keep up to date with the whole of the sport and are clued up i feel. But i think Joshua fights bring a lot of casual fans, guys who wouldn't normally watch many fights, and wouldn't know who guys like Povetkin, Takam etc are.

I may be wrong, but it's what i tend to see :ANYWORD:
