He could be a PPV star but that factor would be is can that talent hold up to elite opposition? Of all the fighters that could be candidates on beating him, my top 2 is Terrence Crawford and Keith Thurman based on styles.
The guy is still developing, but just based on styles, Porter would give him also troubles, because he is a very physical dude, who just jumps in close range and mauls you.

Thurman and Brook were able to beat him. Thurman by using his counterpunching skills and landing the harder shots, but it still was a very close and hard fought fight for thurman. Brook was able to shut down Porter by tying him up and landing punches from midrange, because he throws pretty decent and quick straight punches.

Kelly wont be able to do his hands down slipping punches with his head movement approach against porter and needs insidefighting skills, durability and physical strength to beat him. If not, I can see porter breaking him down in the late rounds.

If he squeezes two 10 rounders in by May, he'd be ready to start calling out Bradley Skeete. But Skeete is a Frank Warren fighter so he'd be protected no doubt.

You're well jumping the gun with the names you listed. Did the European title at that weight get vacated? The fella who won it off Sam Eggington is fighting for the vacant IBO in his next fight.

There's also the Commonwealth title held by Kris George, 13-1 (7 KO). Never heard of him. Josh should be looking to be in the hunt for these titles most definately by years' end.
Yeah i realized how stupid that statement was. He hadn't even got past his first year as a pro.

They want to push him hard, trainer and Hearn have both said so. Theyve wanted Theophane for his next fight. Dont think he'll be 20-0 before they take risks type of fighter. More a Josh Taylor speed of progression.

He's had a nice start & he'll certainly become bigger as he moves up & keeps winning, but idk about Joshua status let alone surpassing Joshua.

I mean at some point when Joshua's taken a couple L's & things may have cooled down a bit on him & assuming everything goes right with Kelly maybe hell surpass a lesser hyped, older, less invincible looking Joshua, but he's not coming close to what Joshua's had going for him or will have going for him if he can get past Parker & Wilder which is probably the most likely outcome.

He ticks a lot of the boxes. He has the looks and the talent but it takes more than that to become a huge star. Even if he has the skills, he needs the personality, the ability to use the media to create hype, say the right things at the right time.

Plenty of good fighters, even great fighters get over looked and never cross over into the mainstream. Even exciting, flashy fighters can get ignored, RJJ wasn't a big draw at all until he beat Ruiz.

But he's so untested we still don't know how good he really is. He hasn't had to face any adversity yet, every opponent has been horribly over matched so far. If he can do the same things at a higher level then we can start getting excited.

                    As talented as Josh is, he will never eclipse Joshua for the following reasons;

                    1) He is a WW
                    2) He is not black
                    3) He is Scottish
                    4) He is not an Olympic Gold Medalist
                    5) He is not humble enough

But...he is a far, far superior boxer and genuine guy than Joshua could ever wish to be.

He’s not Scottish; comes from Sunderland. Can’t disagree with the rest though.
