He's not a promoter so this thread is completely pointless and hate driven. It's like saying Shelly Finkel or Cameron Dunkin is a horrible promoter

But this decade he's been in the background for

3 of the biggest financial fights in the history of the sport

Generating more $ for Mayweather then any other fighter in the history

Multiple fighters that he's associated with have consistently been in the most watched fights the last 3-4 years

his fighters have more straps then any other entity in the sport

Has shown a willingness to have his fighters cross lines to make a fight happen then any other entity in the sport

Been responsible for putting on more 50/50 fights then any other entity in the sport

Been responsible for making the PBC/Showtime the #1 platform for boxing

Whether you want to call him a promoter / manager / advisor /wizard / POS

He's done more for the sport in the last 5 years as a whole then anyone involved
But yeah he's ruining the sport

Look at the first 1/3 of the year Most likely these fights gets made with fighters under his banner

    Wilder/Ortiz
    Spence/Lamont
    Jack/Adonis
    LSC/Mares
    Thurman/Vargas
    Garcia / Lipinets

    HBO
    Estrada / rungsai
    Bivol/ Barrera

    Espn

    Valdez / Quigg
    Crawford / Horn

    Matchroom

    AJ / Parker

I agree Haymon is a f.ucking dirty f.agot by consistently giving boxing fans good fights . HES RUINING THE SPORT

its amazing how strong some ppls opinions are, but you "don't know **** about boxing", and you damned sure don't know **** about the business side of boxing! so threads like this shouldn't even be discussed half the damned time. everyone wants a voice and to have their opinion heard, so then get into boxing and make the changes u wish to see, since u all know so damned much about everything. its either Al, a man who is seems to me to be try to feed his fighters and teach them something at the same time, or ppl like bob arum and don king who ****d the fighters for half a century, and kept them dumb as a mofo and don't believe in educating the fighters. take ur pick

its hilarious watching these guys talk about money and ppv buys....but when floyd canelo or cotto do it they are "chickens" and "nobody cares about that stuff"

its unreal...so funny yet so sad

This is a guy who comes from the notoriously corrupt music industry, so don't think for a moment he isn't shady.

But when you look at all of the talent he snatched up, and that he has champions who still aren't household names, you have to wonder why fighters are staying with him. My guess is they enjoy making <$2M per fight while being matched against mostly soft opposition. They can milk those titles and they are shielded from other dangerous fighters who are signed with different promoters. That way he keeps everything in-house. How he still managed to lose half a billion dollars in three years is still a mystery.
Yeah. And I think they're content in fighting less often.
Becoming PPV stars probably don't even cross their minds.
