All that talent, all the great potential match ups yet he can't build a star and can't drum up any excitement in the mainstream...
Has there ever been a worse promoter than al haymon?

Al isn't a promoter.
The worst promoter is the weakling called Tom Loeffler. Tell him to grow balls and promote GGG the way he deserves to be promoted, not just by hype and lies. Tell him to stand up to other promoters. He's subservient to all promoters.
I guess it's already too late. He has wasted GGG's prime! -

I agree with you, tho. It's criminal to have all these fighters (more than 300?), some with elite potential, and keep them on shelf.
Screw Haymon.Comment

he took an unknown guy from kazahkstan who barely speaks english and got him a ppv fight in the usa that did 1.3 million buys with an estimated 20-30 million purse. haymon has home grown fighters with a built in fanbase and can't do anywhere near that. haymon's guys were born on third base and couldn't score. loeffler took a guy on the bench and hit a homerun. baseball!Al isn't a promoter.

He skirts around the promoter label by calling himself an advisor, but we all know he is dual-hatted as a promoter/manager, which is why he is in violation of the Muhammad Ali Act. This is a guy who comes from the notoriously corrupt music industry, so don't think for a moment he isn't shady.
But when you look at all of the talent he snatched up, and that he has champions who still aren't household names, you have to wonder why fighters are staying with him. My guess is they enjoy making <$2M per fight while being matched against mostly soft opposition. They can milk those titles and they are shielded from other dangerous fighters who are signed with different promoters. That way he keeps everything in-house. How he still managed to lose half a billion dollars in three years is still a mystery.Comment
