    Undisputed criteria:
1920–1963, a boxer who held both the NYSAC and NBA (WBA) titles simultaneously
1963–1983, a boxer who held both the WBA and WBC titles simultaneously
1983–2007, a boxer who held the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles simultaneously
2007–present, a boxer who holds the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO titles simultaneously; by February 2007, all four major organisations were recognised by each other.

    kinda puts things into perspective.

Holyfield unified 3 belts. not 4. big difference.
Ali unified 2 belts. not 4. even bigger difference.

and the only thing that kept Floyd from collecting all 4 was his refusal to pay fees. in my book he became undisputed when he beat both baldomir and judah.

its too much damn politics in this era to accomplish this. crawford only lasted 10 days as undisputed.

I doubt we will ever see another Hopkins. not in my lifetime.

          Lol,

Damn, Holyfield why did you trigger the *****es.

To tell you honestly I'd rather not be great and undisputed champion and just want my fights to be remembered by my fans and for future generations to watch..

Floyd will always be the usain bolt of boxing.. - its a fact

becoming undisputed and getting 4-5 titles is almost impossible even for the guys who stay in the same division for a long time. Most belts will not list another champ as your mandatory and each of the belts will have different #1 mandatories, so its an endless cycle of negotiations with all of them plus fees on top of all of that.

Then you got promoters who throw obstacles of "whelp we would like to make the fight before you go to prison but there isnt enough time because we have to build an entire new stadium for the fight. Yep thats the only way the fight can happen, is if we build a new stadium"

Floyd's war with Bob Arum is really the primary reason why. Floyd famously made fights exactly when he wanted to make them, and it's one of his biggest brags that he still makes right after he brags about his money.

He fought a handful of top guys as soon as they were no longer involved with Bob Arum. If I'm not mistaken the only exception was the Manny fight after Floyd split with Top Rank?

Floyd always says he did it his way and that partly involved not dealing with certain outfits who always had champions in the stable. Does anyone else remember the insane fever pitch Bob Arum created for Floyd to fight Margarito back in like 2008?

I do wish Floyd had fought Cotto earlier, when he was still with Bob, and before the whole Margarito disaster. Probably the top thing I wish had gone down differently on Floyd's resume. Maybe Mosley a good 3 years sooner would have been a better fight too.

Unrelated but: I think Floyd's best wins on paper (arguably) are the Hatton KO and beating young Canelo.

Oh also forgot to say: Holyfield is the man. I wish he had retired younger than he did; but he is a legend and he absolutely deserves a certain kind of respect that I'll truly never have for Floyd.
