If he was fighting journeyman on undercards in his first 10-13 fights, sure.

But he's a world champion - meaning he's at the pinnacle of the sport.

Call it like it is - he's scared. Not literally "scared" in the sense a kid is scared of monsters, but scared of what Loma would do to his career.

Davis is very young and a year ago few knew who he was. I'm not real upset that they want to pace themselves with his development. They should be expected to put him in reasonably competitive fights though. I'm a lot more disappointed in a guy like Keith Thurman who is in his prime and has pretty much said flat out that he doesn't want to fight Spence until there's no one else and it's absolutely necessary.

I really don't see why Mayweather is protecting this kid, not like he'll ever be a big star. Might as well just let him sink or swim against Lomachenko, that'll be the only guy he can fight to take him to that stardom. It's a long shot and I know Floyd is bidding his time but really don't see the kid making it as he's not that talented, he's small, and will most likely get in trouble with the law and halt his career.

I don't think it is Tank that is scared. I think that real just recognizes real and Floyd knows Tank would be way over his head against Loma. Floyd knows Loma is the goods, even if he does not admit it.
