In sports, the best thing for the fans is a monopoly. Because fans want to see the best face the best. Fans benefited when the AFL and NFL merged or when the ABA and NBA merged. Fans benefit that there is one Olympics instead of three Olympics controlled by three different networks with the talent split in three directions.

That's not true. He was convicted once of manslaughter, not murder. The other incident was self defense when somebody broke into his home. He wasn't convicted of anything.

But King isn't a governing body or etc. He's just some guy that will promise you 1.2 million and give you 300k. If you complain, he'll threaten your life. Know what I mean?

Hillary Brown was not in King's home, but robbing one of his illegal ******** houses.

Governing bodies in boxing are fictional. You hire them to pretend to be the equivalent of the NFL or NBA, but the truth is that the promoter is the equivalent in boxing.

So it wasn't his home, it was one of his homes. Got it. That definitely excuses lying and saying he was convicted of murder.

I very much doubt potential fighters went into other sports because Don King was around. There were other promoters to hook-up with.

Boxing is the way it is due to it being a fringe sport these days. There are more popular sports around for them to get into.

Comparing the NFL to Don King isn't exactly a fair comparison, that's the point.

King ran an illegal ******** house in Cleveland. it wasn't one of his homes that he owned. doubt King owned a single home back then.

King had nothing to do with that. FNF had a former NFL player on one night a few years back for commentation. I guess he had an Amateur record in Boxing and when asked why he went with football he said the reason he didn't go with Boxing was football was easier.

Boxing ain't easy. Feast or famine in most cases.

But it's a much fairer comparison than comparing the NFL to the IBF.

Don King was more akin to an "owner" than a sanctioning body.

and didn't he get shot IN THE BACK? How in gods name is that self defense?

or did you mean the other victim, the one that King kicked to death was self defense?
