They still owe fox two more.
    False.

Why do you think this low budget fight is happening? U didn’t think fox bought this and asked for this did u????
The same reason low budget fights happen on FS1. Fox wants boxing, Haymon gives it to them.

      Good fight for both guys.

Let’s see who can remain relevant as both guys are in desperate need of a big win.

Actually that’s terrible. Showtime could do that much with 20% of the household subscriptions

lmao. Fox wants some much boxing that they ot three cards on last year in 365 days. They are very interested in boxing doe! Lmaooo. This is a time buy and the money is running out that’s why people like Devon Alexander Victor Ortiz Seanie Monaghan Caleb Plant and Omar Figueroa are being televised by the network. They are just collecting the Last of their money and pbc is putting on the cheapest fights possible. Showtime wouldnt buy this card 😂

And they only had four UFC cards on the main network. Doesn't change the fact that it's a sport Fox wants on their networks, primarily on FS1 and occasionally on Fox OTA.

They should have put Wilder vs. Ortiz on FOX.

If would be the perfect thing to do in regards to hype a potential fight with Joshua.

Save the money to pay other guys who have a future. Not two guys who have had their best days way behind them.
Fox is solidifying a relationship with a content provider (while also getting a fighter, no matter how much folks like ****ting on him, with some name value, in a competitive fight).

With the Disney deal in the works, whatever's left of 21st Century Fox is basically going to be bet on FOX, Fox News, and FS1 (almost a mirror set up to how NBCUniversal has things set up, where MSNBC/CNBC/TWC/etc all feed into NBC News and vice versa).

The need for content is real, and will get downright overwhelming if they can't come to a deal for the UFC's non-PPV content.

For just the PBC on FS1 content (Toe-to-Toe), Haymon has the stable to more than make up the UFC FS1 dates; even with Showtime/CBS getting the first pick of the best fights, there are still enough big fights to cover the UFC's FOX dates too.

And Haymon is unlikely to ask for $4b over 10 years to deliver the package either.

                    Long game

A fight like this is how you create a challenger the public has heard of. Two former champions. The winner will go on to bigger things. The loser may not get another chance.
May not, but then again, that's not Haymon's mo; if it's a good fight, though it may be a similar or smaller fight, the loser is going to get at least one more chance to show.

Still, to your point, this is an effective way to build a new challenger to the general public; if Keith Thurman opts to fighting Shawn Porter again, Errol Spence Jr will be looking for a tickover defense, and I think FOX would be ecstatic to get Spence Jr vs the Ortiz-Alexander winner for their channel.
