I just hope Cotto starts fighting A class fighters for now. Not many people knew Pauli before until his mouth started going. He helped promote the fight by **** talking for months.

        I didn't see this fight.
I want to know......was Cotto hitting Paulie, frequently, early on in the fight ?

If so......proves Paulie was only "slick" against mediocrities.

I give the guy credit for taking a lot of heavy shots & never giving up, however.

Early on he was slick, but as the fight went on, the damage that the body shots had done was evident bc Paulie was not nearly as slick and began to hold almost obsessively. Cotto did alot of body work but was hit with shots that were crushing to the body.

            Paulie fought a ****** fight.
He was toe to toe with Cotto for long periods of time.

Don't you think, that's because he had to be ?

This is where the lack of power comes in. You can keep a bunch of defenseless stiffs at bay with your feather fists, which makes you appear slicker than you are. But, when facing a world class guy, different story.

He noticed early on that Cotto was going to cut the ring off, so he had to adjust. I wouldn't say paulie stood toe to toe with him that much, but he did more than expected. it just shows that you can't run away from a guy that cuts the ring off so well.

Yeah, but I still think he could've used his legs more, walk Cotto down and land flurries. He could've frustrated Cotto and take some of his energy away, but when you allow Cotto to hit you with hard body shots so early, you can throw doing that out of the window.
I think if me and my dad trained Paulie, he would've won that fight. His power would've been better too.

Yes, he'd have sat around, staring at people doing sex acts while covered in ****.
He definitely would have boxed better, & punched harder.
