Losing, in the grand scheme of things does not detract from a career overall.

Think of any all time great, they probably lost didn’t they?

Thing is, people these days are way too easily bought into the whole marketing BS and promotions on the whole undefeated angle. Yeah, being undefeated is a great thing to be able to say about your career - you are a fighter and no one beat you - that is obviously a positive. But if you can’t say that? So what? Was it not Ali himself that said “just lost a fight, that’s all” after Frazier beat him? Look how Ali’s career turned out.

Fact is it doesn’t really matter, people just fall way to deep into thinking it is. The Mayweather era didn’t help that much with that. Floyd is a great fighter with a damn fine record, granted, but many many people read into that as the standard model to be followed when it isn’t.

Similarly, are you going to give Floyd and Ward credit then?

If not, cease asking the same question you hypocrite.

He tied, drawed, fought him to a stalemate, he failed to prove he was the superior man. You fight to win. As far as I'm concerned ties in professional sports are ****** as **** and just as bad as losing.

If you want to use undefeated as the measure of greatness, then Sven Ottke is the second best SMW of all time since he retired 34-0, leaving Calaaghe as the greatest SMW of all time at 46-0.
