Cotto was not worried about Paulie's power and that's why he was getting hit more as the fight went on. Think about it, if you know this kid can't hurt you then you are more apt to just come in clean rather than behind the jab. Cotto knew Paulie could not hurt him and that's why he was fighting the way he was after the 6th or 7th round.

BTW, that punch in the 9th was Cotto overswinging his left and missing Paulie that caused him to lose his balance and step back. Watch it again and you will see that Paulie hits Cotto with the jab and then Cotto tries to counter with a left hook but Paulie moved away and Cotto had overcommited himself to that punch.

DLT will NEVER give props to Cotto...

And yeah I want to say that Pauli took a lot of punishment and still went the 12 rounds like a man. Also I have to give him props for not talkin **** in the post fight interview.

Did anyone saw when they put in the broadcast a still image when Pauli was walking to his corner and he had this face like "**** what I got myself into..." lol that **** was funny.

what was impressive was how PAulie went at COTTO even though hes not the puncher. Paulie showed guts and win or lose he showed that he belonged as one of the best 140 pounders.

this was one of the hardest fights that I ever tried to score. The rounds all depended on what you like. Paulie worked alot in most of the rounds while cotto landed clean shots.

He had to come at Cotto, because he could not outbox Cotto, like he said he was going to easily do.

Cotto showed that he CAN box.

But yes Paulie is talented and he is a smart fighter.

anyway I gave Paulie 6 rounds and the 2nd round was the biggest round of the fight. Cotto finished the fight strong.

            great fight

Malgnaggi's a tough guy though.. credit to him

a few thoughts on the Top Rank commentators....

                  Great to hear Foreman.

My one problem, after the 5th round, one commentator said (referring to Malgnaggi), "I've got him leading in the fight based on the fact that he's overall been busier and he's not stopped throwing punches since the fight began!"... are you kidding me? lol
