Margarito didnt lose to Santos at 147, a cut caused a draw. He lost at 154 and was giving him a good fight. Remember that Santos is a slick southpaw, too, with power in both his hands. I think Margarito performed very well against Santos.
.
You are wrong. He lost a TD to Santos by split dec. Scores were,
84-87, 86-85, 85-86.
This is the wrong thread for this but I just wanted to clear that up.
Yes, at the end of the fight, when Evangelista was taking Cotto's left glove off, he actually shouted in pain not once, but twice. I believe he really did hurt his hand and if you watch the press conf. you will see him hold his left hand in weird positions and he never fully rests it on the podium or makes a fist like he does with his right. If he's acting then he deserves an oscar, lol.
I know but that happeneds alot also. Floyd did the same thing after the Hernandez fight when they took his glove off. The only way to truly know is how quickly he has his next fight

Sounds decent. Tell me did Paulie fight well in any of the rounds he lost or were they just completely one sided, and tell me your overall thoughts on the fight
The first fight, at 147, was a no contest because of a cut on Margarito. The second fight, at 154, was a win for Santos. I said the first fight was a draw but it was a NC, that was my mistake, but he was still doing very well against Santos in the second fight and many sportswriters had him ahead at the time of stoppage and claimed a home-ring victory for Santos since the fight was in PR.
I had Santos ahead 86-85 at stoppage but it was close and some rounds could've gone either way.
Malignaggi did fantastic under the circumstances. It was his first big fight, he got cut very badly 10 seconds in, knocked down and his jaw broken in the next round and still finished on his feet. He even had Cotto rocked once in the 9th round. Malignaggi is for real, and he put up an excellent fight. His jaw and nose were broken in this fight. Both fighters brought their A games. I gave Malignaggi 4 rounds. He was never in a good position to win the fight with the knockdown and the cut, but he sure fought like he was.

Well close rounds to me where rounds 10 and round 8, even if you were to switch them around or give both to Paulie Cotto will still be leading 7 rounds to 5 plus a knockdown. Paulie fought great, but Foreman said it best, that Cotto makes fights, outta fights, that shouldnt be fights.

I didnt mean it as to say, give Paulie those rounds. I was just trying to find out how competitive the fight was. Some fights, a guy can win nearly every round but it can still be a competitive fight if alot of the rounds were close

It was competive, only because Cotto fought the wrong fight, basicly, in my opinion. He walked into punches, and wasnt really trying to box, just get on the inside.

Sorry but Cotto was not rocked in the 9th, Paulie punched Cotto as Cotto was stepping back, and caught him off balance...big difference.
I agree that Paulie performed well considering the circumstances. He had a cut, a broken right orbital bone, and a broken nose....
Cotto also performed well considering that he hurt his hand in the 6th or 7th round. Cotto also had to deal with the fact that Paulie held Cotto's left arm throughout the entire fight. IN the later rounds Cotto held his left hand low, showing that it was hurt, and could not use his signature left hook the way he usually does.
