Did Shawn Porter sneak out of Church away from his daddy, still dressed in his Church clothes, to say that?

It doesn't make sense to wait 6 -8 months. Fight on the Thurman undercard so there's no excuse when losing to Thurman there's ring rust and Thurman kept customers waiting. I wouldn't fight Spencer like others are saying if loses will destroy a rematch with Thurman perhaps a top welter like Van Heerden whose trying to get back in the title race himself.

Thurman isn't doing this to duck Porter, it has nothing at all to do with Porter. Thurman doesn't want to face the Truth. Any interview with Thurman and that is obvious. Porter can wait, and he will, and Thurman-Porter II will happen late 2018. Spence will still be looking for anyone to get in the ring with him. Spence has a belt too, but nobody, and I mean nobody, wants anything to do with Spence. Heck Porter even said as much, that he definitely isn't fighting Spence anytime soon, but probably some day down the road will.

Thurman will fight Vargas and then Porter, and then probably another optional against no one too great and a rematch with Garcia, and every fight possible that doesn't involve Errol Spence. Thurman will probably beat everyone else too. Crawford is never going to fight the best ww's. If Thurman and Crawford had the cahones there would be some seriously good fights. Against each other and each against Spence. Oh well, hope Vargas kos him, but Thurman should win without too much trouble.

Porter shouldn't remain inactive for that long he should try and fight for an Eliminator in another sanctioning body. Keep your ranking in WBC, but stay active
I feel you! That's my fear too! How long will Porter be inactive, if the tune-up is in March/April? He shouldn't fight just anybody, but if he gets a shot @ Garcia, Khan, or Matthysse, he should do it! What I really want to see, if Porter would take the risk, is Jermell Charlo vs. Shawn Porter for the WBC 154lb. title! Porter used to fight 152/154! That would be a WAR!

Why not go for Spence in the meantime between time?

You can kind of question KT's 'cahones' if you will.........But to question TBC's cahones? TBC was calling out KT before he had officially moved up to 147 and even before he had become the undisputed champion at 140. So to question TBC at all is just absurd. The man has made it clear he wants to fight the best now let's see what path is taken.

You must not have seen the IBF 147lb rankings........First of all, Porter is nowhere to be found in the top 15! Secondly, I think the only other recognisable name is Luis Collazo........LOL.

Please have a rematch in 2018 - I want 2018 to be something special what with the HW division finally getting back on track and all these p4p fighters who haven't fought each other / need rematches etc.

Porter needs to fight in interim.................

Thurman will have a comeback fight in early 2018. Then he'll fight Vargas this summer and then Porter. So Porter may be out of the ring conceivable for a year or Thurman may decide not to do the fight till 2019, then what Team Porter? Porter team can take a stay busy fight early in 2018 while waiting for Thurman. Porter is young and no reason to sit on shelf for a year before potentially fighting only once in 2018 if at all considering Thurman may push that fight out further which will put the Spence fight not till end of 2019.
