Who's next in line to be a mainstream star?

That’s the standard promoter fee though for standard fighters, cash cows like Caneo and AJ ain’t paying no standard percentage fees, their promoter’s will be getting a flat fee. The promoters need the star fighters more than the star fighters need them. I get your point thoughu also gotta figure the standard promoter cut is 27%. Both have promoters, Matchroom for Joshua, and GBP for Canelo.
so if Canelo GGG did 1.3 million, and Canelo got 70% of the cut that would be 72,000,000 (at 80 a buy). Gate was 27 million, so 70% of that would be about 19 million. that is 91,000,000; 90 million X 27% = about 25 million.
So it's safe to say before taxes and any other expenses Canelo made about 65 million.
Wait, wait, doe. The cable companies keep about half of the money, don't they? I'm also guessing MGM Grand gets a cut of the gate revenue.
So of that 130,000,000 the pot split between GGG and Canelo was probably more like 80 million (being generous).
So Cannel's chunk would be 56,000,000. Then take 27% for GBP, and he is left with 41 million.
And that is before any other fees he might have like manager fees (not sure who/if he has a manager).
So it's safe to say Canelo made about 41 million for GGG (before taxes, of course).
If Joshua made 20 million POUNDS against Klitschko, that's like 28 million USD.
SO for their MEGA FIGHTS, I'd say they are pretty close.
But you are right, OVERALL, Canelo is the bigger star. I agree.Last edited by RJJ-94-02=GOAT; 12-22-2017, 03:51 PM.Comment

He also lost to Mauricio Herrera (one fight after Matthyse), won controversial decisions over Zab Judah (who was 37-38 himself at the time of the fight) and Lamont (who many felt LP actually won), and his wins over Morrales were at JWW and happened when Morales was 36 and 37 years old.
Wow, might as well be PFP #1???? LOL. Okay, okay, okay.
MarGGGarito #1 and Danny #2???????????????????????

He didn’t lose to Herrera he won. Danny Garcia won a MD over Mauricio Herrera FACT. Therefore you are WRONG.
I scored it 114-114 but have no problem with Danny edging it. It was a CLOSE fight.
He clearly beat Judah no controversy there. I thought he edged Peterson 115-113 had Peterson imposed himself earlier he could’ve won the fight but he literally did nothing for 6-7 rounds. Morales may have been 36 but he was still an active WORLD CHAMPION and a good fighter.
2 Questions
Why would Danny Garcia be P4P #1??
What relevance does GGG have to any of this???
You clearly have very little understanding of boxing so...

Showtime's Al Berntein, Steve Farhood and Paul Malignaggi all had it for Mauricio Herrera as the majority of the twitterverse

I guess you had Bradley beating Pac in their first fight and PWill beating Lara too, right?
Herrera beat Danny regardless of judging. It's a fact Ball JuGGGlers will always have trouble understanding.
LP and Judah both won 115-113. So let's not get crazy on Danny "always average" Garcia.
He squeaked by Judah and LP (getting incredible benefit of the doubt) and had a great win over Matthyse. He did what he was supposed to do against chinny Khan and I give him credit for that, but that was at JWW. That doesn't make his split decision loss to Thurman significant.
So let's not jump on a high horse and say Thurman is a world beater. He squeaked by a guy that arguably lost to .Zab Judah, Lamont Peterson, and definitely lost to HerreraLast edited by Bjl12; 12-22-2017, 06:19 PM.Comment

Let me explain something ******, those tweets your using as some sort of validation are OPINIONS! NOT FACTS. So hold little weight. Garcia won the fight officially it’s a FACT. And everybody has a bad night at the office during their careers. By your logic your hero Floyd would be like 48-2 because A LOT of people think he lost to Castillo and ODLH. But that’s not how it works!!Herrera won the 12th on my card. I got him winning 116-112. #boxing @SHOsports #GarciaHerrera

There’s even some deluded, bias ******s (like you) who’ll claim he lost to Maidana and Pacquiao. Like your saying in regards to Danny vs Judah. And speaking of struggling vs Judah, you ever watched Mayweather vs Judah???😂😂
I’d say that y’all must’ve forgot but I don’t think you knew **** to begin with.
The point I’m making is not that Keith Thurman is a world beater (although he’s a very talented fighter) but that he is a proven fighter who's proven himself against some of the best opposition in his division, therefore is clearly NOT a hype job.Comment

Spence has the skill and the smile to be something big. They're not marketing him though. PBC seems to be doing the UFC thing where they are selling the brand more than their fighters.
Oscar is doing the right things with Canelo to market him, hence why he's THE star right now. AJ is becoming another, mostly on marketing because the dude has had 1 real right.Comment
