  • Why doesn't GGG dare to be great?

He's been fighting at 160 his whole career and has yet to move up once.

    Why won't he challenge himself?

Why was he scared of SOG?

Is he scared to move up?

    He's 35 years old

McDonald’s certainly dares to be great. It makes people all over the World move up, all the way from 160 to 260, from 200 to 300! You name it! McDonald’s is always all the way up!

Why? To please Dontae brothas? Ward turned down the fight when HBO offered the fight.

If GGG wants to be great he needs to move up.

He was ducking ward, why couldnt he fight ward at 168???? GGG can easily make that weight

I think Jacobs was a pretty challenging opponent for GGG. If you don't consider Jacobs a challenge, well GGG isn't done at 160, so just wait and see.

Honestly, neither of them seemed very eager to fight each other. Ward didn't wanna fight GGG in 2013, due to an injury and promoter issues. GGG didn't wanna fight Ward later on, probably because there were better paydays. Ward also moved up to 175 before they got another chance to negotiate. I will say that whole 154-168 thing was bullshit, but I think that was more Sanchez and Loeffler than GGG. According to GGG himself, he would only fight at 154 or 168 if the money was right.

More like he doesn't need to. He only has one more belt to take at 160, and Canelo's a bigger payday than anyone at 168.

Another reason why he may never move up to 160. He should be preparing for retirement, and again, Canelo's a bigger payday than anyone he can fight at 168.

To answer your initial question, I don't think GGG needs to move up, in order to be considered great by many. Whether you think GGG is great or not, is simply your opinion.

And he unified the WBC, WBA and IBF world titles.

Joining Marvin Hagler and Bernard Hopkins. GGG has made himself an all time great at middleweight. He doesn't have to move up. You should fight at whatever weight you can make.

Pretty sure he's never seen Hagler. Probably just thinks he's some British guy from the 90s so paid him no interest.
