Would he have suddenly gone from landing an absolutely pathetic 3 punches per round to putting on some sort of boxing clinic against lomachenko? Would 4 lbs have made the difference? what do people think?
do people genuinely think rigo would have won at 126?

Bro get it right, it was 2.5 punches landed per round for Rigo, not 3.
6 x 2.5 = 15, though I appreciate you trying to make the one-sided WHOOPING less painful for the haters on here!

Nah I don't think so.
Size did play a factor yes but skillwise Lomachenko was also clearly superior. Which shocked me.
I expected Rigondeaux to pick up the early rounds, be ahead going into round 7 and Lomachenko take him out down the stretch but Lomachenko had him figured out very early.
Fair play, top fighter.Comment

A couple years ago at a lighter weight I'd wager Rigo would have been able to land 6 punches a round.Comment

Well Loma himself discussed the difference in size and how that mitigated the win. I think if the fight happened earlier at lower weight it may have looked different.Comment

Rigo actually weighed in at 128.5 and stipulated a rehydration clause.
So, that 2.5 pound weight difference form his weighin weight and the SBW limit should not matter, you'd think.
Loma also came in at 129, so 3 pounds above SBW. Again, 2.5 or 3 pounds should not be that impactful for either guy.Comment

For a fighter of that calibration and skill level, a couple of lbs should not make a difference.
These guys where the absolute peak and pinnacle of technical skill and a few lbs scattered between them is, or should be, negated by that, one would think.
Yes, Loma had a size advantage, but let’s not act like smaller fighters haven’t overcome size odds before when they are the more skilled man in there.
There was a gulf in levels, not lbs.Comment
