    He would have lost

    His chin is suspect so hes too patient and waits for perfect counterpunch. Loma has fast combos and fast feet to not be there for counter.

      No, but it would have been closer for sure.

        Rigo weighed in at 128,5 and Loma at 129. Had the fight been at 126, that’s a 2,5 and 3 pound difference, and come fight time, would have maybe changed their fight weight by 1 or 2 pounds from what they were last night. So zero matter for fight weight. Loma is simply on another level.

          Yea, for me, it's personally unimportant who wins. I'm cool with both guys. But, it wasn't a very sporting fight because they were too far apart in size. Even in the first round, before Loma did anything, it was obvious they were not even close in size. My wife asked me if Rigo was a midget.

          Loma having to drain a little more would have at least been enough of a hardship to help make the fight more competitive. It's not that he would be that much smaller, but not being as fresh helps even things up a little because size matters. As far as Rigo winning, probably not, but that's not the point.

          I kept telling people that Loma would be a lot bigger, but even I wasn't prepared for this;

            Probably not but it's impossible to say for sure how the fight would have turned out.

              There are levels in boxing and unbelievably Lomachenko appears to be a level above Rigondeaux. Size and age were factors that can't be ignored but Rigo actually looked one-dimensional compared to Loma

                This.

                The style of Rigondeaux didn't work with someone who had the skill, willingness, and dimensions to touch him. He wasn't allowed time to think, and was getting outworked. Lomachenko didn't go in there to look as stylish as normal, yet he still managed to at times. Loma was willing to miss with punches to land a few.

                The size helped him land the jab, which was a thing of beauty for most of the fight.

                The dimensions they both possess, Rigondeaux would never be able to overcome Lomachenko. The weight was of little consequence.

                  3 punches per round is very generous. He landed 15 over 6 rounds. 2.5 punches per round on average. That pathetic performance probably set a record for least landed punches in a match up between two champions or two gold medal winners.

                    To be fair, Loma outlanded Rigo 55 to 15 while having reach 3 inches less.

                      This. I expected Loma to win but the biggest things I thought he would have to overcome were

                      1. - dropping his output to a snails pace for fear of being countered - didnt happen, Loma was the only one willing to take risks to win this fight

                      2. - his small t-rex arms hurting him on the outside and allowing rigo to land first - didnt happen, Loma had superior handspeed and especially foot speed and was able to dart in and out of range before rigo could counter. I didnt expect loma to have that much of a speed advantage.
