You tailor interviews and hearsay to suit your own argument.

"Well fighter a said such and such so it MUST be true"

Then you ignore interviews from other fighters which oppose your view.

Your bias is plain as day yet you hide behind a handke which is designed to look professional when we all know you are just a particularly clever and articulate troll.

      Thats whass up

Wilder was terrified of Wlad after getting his arse kicked in sparring. He wanted NOTHING to do with him.

Wlad isn't underrated. I think he gets way too much credit for his long reign as HW champ. Needless to say the HW division has whittled down quite a bit. It's starting to make a resurgence finally. I also don't think Joshua is overrated. Even at his age, Klitschko was supposed to beat Joshua. He got pretty close to doing it. Joshua proved a lot by overcoming the KD and fatigue to win the fight. Doing what he did tells me he's a special fighter.

I like Wilder also but I think he squandered a lot his talent with his choice of opponents. He should've fought Klitschko, if he had the opportunity.

            Yes. And no.

I wouldn't say AJ is overrated outside of a few of his fan boys. Most reasonable fans rate him properly.

Klitschko on the other hand had been criminally underrated for years. Now that he's retired, a lot of people are starting to lighten up a little on their negative stance and are giving him the recognition he deserves.

AJ is special for going to hell and back with a 41 year old man who was out of the ring for a year and a half?

Damn, that must make Tyson Fury god himself!

I cant rate him number 1 on merit though because the big names are absent and he DID lose on his way out to the future top guys.

Not to bash the guy but maybe during his prime he was unfortunaye not to have the competition avaliable

Fair enough! I can definitely respect that ranking as it is a respectable ranking. Top 5 is justifiably the bare minimum Wlad deservea to be ranked in.

Wlad took on the best possible opposition that he could've and should've boxed against (except his older brother Vitali Klitschko) for roughly a decade. So except his older brother, there isn't a single 'big name' he willfully avoided / ducked during his title reign.

I can understand some having a different criteria than me for ranking heavyweight boxers in the all time great rankings. However, my ranking is purely based on accomplishments and feats in championship bouts and Wlad's feats and accomplishments are the most impressive. Only Vitali Klitschko, Lennox Lewis and prime Mike Tyson rival Wlad in this department.

Also, Wlad lost to those boxers on his way out at an age when most other past heavyweight champions were either retired, or were losing themselves but at an even earlier age. So one can't diminish Wlad's legacy for his losses late on in his career since that would mean one has to also diminish the past heavyweight champion's legacies too since they weren't doing any better by that age.

OK Wlad is a ATG respect him please. from 2005 to 2015 he DOMINATED the heavyweight division, taking all comers and sending them home with pounding headaches. He ducked no one he owned everyone during that time. However like all mean he got old, a man of that size take more wear and tear on his body he aged harder. So when he finally loses in 2015 to Fury at 38 /39 Fury is all of a sudden an elite boxer.... really. Then Wlad suffers his second loss in 12 years to AJ and now AJ is best heavyweight in world.... really. They beat a aging champion it happens to the best of them. Doesn't make them best in world only makes them in the right place at the right time. When they put together, ill be fair, 5 years of dominance then you can say they are best in world. At least that how I see it. We got a lot of young hungry HW champs one of them will rise to the top. For now they all still got a lot to prove.

Brilliantly written post! I couldn't agree more. At this point in time, there isn't an ultimate or undisputed best heavyweight in the world. Although some are better than others.

Very importantly, we will see what happens to Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury when they themselves are also around the age of 40 (assuming they wouldn't retire by then).

WBC were encouraging unification but Wilder in his own words said ‘why do I need face Klitschko now when I can wait for him to get old’. It is what it is, Wlad fought Jennings instead and then unification would have taken precedence again but Wilder wanted no part so Wlad had to defend his rotation with Jennings being an optional defence.
