The most like guy is Breazeale who is currently top ten which is laughable because the guy is a total stiff, but there is history and two Americans with bad blood can be sold and the ending is likely to be a nasty one for Breazeale. the other option would be Ortiz which is more challenging and probably doesn't pay much better and only improves his q-rating with hard core fans. Most anyone would choose Breazeale in that situation because he probably offer the best **** for the buck for setting up a Joshua fight.

If he fights Ortiz now that is purely a sporting reason, but it is possible since both are with Haymon. It really depends on how long the Joshua fight gets put off, if it is less than 12 months out he is probably only fighting one, if it is looking more like 18 months then he probably fights both.
The fact that Breazeale comes to fight fat & soft gives me absolutely no confidence that he will ever amount to anything more than a big, sloppy can. Ortiz isn't in the best shape, but he's got more muscle than fat. Also, he is a beast of a puncher from Cuba. If he can come in shape and clean, he's a real threat to Wilder. I'd really be surprised if Wilder actually faced him.

    • Like it or not Wilder is going to have to accept a flat fee or a lower percentage if AJ has the WBO belt too, ain’t like Joshua ain’t got other options either and if Hearn signs his cash cow up to HBO Wilder is likely going to miss the payday all together before losing the title to someone like Ortiz.

I agree on that about that Ortiz is much more of a threat than Breazeale.

I understand the reasoning for fighting Breazele but I would really prefer for Wilder to fight Jarrell Miller or Luis Ortiz next if the alternative is someone Joshua already stopped. Breazeale needs to fight someone better than the last two guys he fought to earn another title shot.

I don't agree. The problem is that both guys make a lot of money even if they stick to playing in their own sandboxes. Kind of like a much smaller scale (money wise) version of Mayweather/Pacman. Someone's going to need to give in sooner or later. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.

Breazeale would be Wilders best win . These guys continue to contradict themselves stating Wilders opposition was decent yet Breazeale is a bum? lol

Wilder hasnt even fought a power puncher yet .At least Breazeale brings that and ability to take one to land one and we ALL seen Wilder rattled by far less smaller guys .

If Joshua had Wilders resume they would have a field day .

Yea although Millar at the moment is pretty much a lateral move from Breazeale, although I do think he has more potential to be a bit better. Miller is much more entertaining as a talker though and with him being so huge I think that fight can be sold also, but if Miller is any good that fight may be able to be something a bit more Breazeale is never going to be more than he is.

Ortiz would obviously provide the stiffest challenge of the lot and would gain Wilder the most respect.

The question is does he need to chase respect at the moment because if he is one fight from Joshua all the respect he needs in on the horizon and Ortiz will probably still be around after. If Joshua is further off than one fight then Wilder is going to have to see Ortiz more than likely to keep his relevance high.

I just hope they come back quick whatever they do, Wilder doesn't need much of a rest and should be able to get back at it right after the holidays.

                • Joshua is NOT part of any bargaining to get Wilder to fight Whyte. This came straight from Joshua himself, so anything else said by Hearn or anyone else is plain lies.

Wilder category of money isn’t anywhere close to Joshua’s, Wilder would virtually go from making like $1-2million against Breazeale to upwards of $10-15million against Joshua. So I think he would have to give in sooner.

Whyte doesn't have any more ability than the likes of Molina and Spilka, and he can look ordinary against opponents who don't fire him up. But when he does get fired up, Dillian is a different animal altogether!

He is an emotional guy, who fights with pride, passion, and a lot of heart just, like Wilder, and I think that makes him a dangerous opponent for Deontay.

I would favour Wilder to beat Whyte, because he has more power, but it would be a wild, brawling shoot-out if they ever got it on, and anything can happen in fights like that between HWs.
