175 is turning into one of the best divisions in boxing. I hope you weren't looking forward to seeing Ward defend those 3 belts he "won" against some of the new faces coming through .. Beterbiev, Bivol, etc.

Nah .. I'm lying there. I hope you were looking forward to seeing him defend those titles.

Yeah. Nobody who watched those fights really raised Ward's stock much if at all. Kov won the first fight (according to nearly 80% of the boxing press in a survey) and while Ward improved in the 2nd, it ended via an embarrassing mistake by the ref.

But it's boxingscene and full of homers who are just gonna spam "2-0 baby! Retired at the top!".

That **** was totally inconclusive. All we saw is that they're very close.

Is Kovalevs resume really that much better than Stevensons? he beat hopkins who was humilated by Chad Dawson. what's Kovalevs best win, I'd say it's Pascal Kovalevs resume isn't as impressive as people make it out to be. Stevenson best win would be Bellew granted it was time ago but he was world champ since their fight. Kovalevs upcoming fight might be the best name on his resume assuming he gets it.

Can't blame Ward for that second one though. However, I totally agree that we never received any closure from that rivalry. A third one was justified but Ward packed him bags and went home for whatever reason.

Now we have Kovalev, Beterbiev and Bivol at light-heavyweight, 3 eastern european beasts and i hope they face eatch other in epic showdowns! I'm glad Ward retired, i never liked his style as a fighter.

She can say that all she wants. As a matter of fact she has to say it because she's his promoter but at least in the eyes of the boxing public, he will always be remembered as being Andre Ward's, Son of God's b1tch.

The sad part about it is, he got punk'd. It wasn't so much that he was knocked out, but it was the fact that he quit. Now the whole division is confident that they could make him do the same thing if only they can display just an ounce of the fortitude that Ward displayed.

The division is up for grabs - Kovalev is not the man of anything right now.

What ? He lost to "competition", twice...

Now go down that list: Chilemba, Pascal,
Mohammedi, 49 y/o Hopkins, Caparello, Agnew, Sillah, Cleverly...

                      I mean, come on...

Stevenson's sheet looks as good, or as bad, up to you ...

Fonfara (twice), Williams Jr, Karpency, Bika, Sukhotskiy, Bellew, Cloud, Dawson...
