did ward ever make ggg a realistic offer to fight? no he did not. so how can ggg be expected to fight him? cause you say so isnt a good reason. he is supposed to go out of his way to indulge ward the diva? a guy who was fighting on BET and expected a 50-50 split after having much less fans and being kicked off of hbo? just a waste of time. he has his own career plans and they involved fighting in a huge ppv fight against canelo, with grabbing all the belts as his backup. wards career plans were what exactly....it had been 4 years since he won the super six and he had dont nothing and had no direction in his career. thats why he got kicked off of hbo. they wanted to be in the ward business but he simply wouldnt make the fights. fighting ggg was his way back on but he blew it. ggg didn't blow anything because he had the canelo fight already lined up. fighting ward was not a priority sorry. if ward had made a realistic offer then maybe but he didn't. they let ward back on if he agreed to fight kovalev and you saw how that back fired. 2 controversial fights that completely bombed and then he turns around and retires so there was no gain to be made. ward was a toxic fighter. win or lose ggg is good business and good fair boxing. ward was not either.

he made TWO genuine offers, you excuse-making *******

    1) 164, or no fight.....
Promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions, who handle IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs), says a fight can certainly be worked out with WBA super middleweight king Andre Ward (28-0, 15 KOs). But the deal would have to be under Golovkin's terms and not dictated by Ward. Loeffler feels Golovkin has surpassed Ward as a ticket seller and in terms of name recognition - making GGG the A-side of the negotiations.

    2) GGG's Team Turned Down Ward in 36 Minutes
Over the last few weeks, a lot has been said and a lot has been written with respect to a potential fight between WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs) and WBA super middleweight king Andre Ward (28-0, 15KOs). As the finishing touches were being made to Golovkin's October 17th unification with IBF champion David Lemieux - Ward's promoter, Roc Nation Sports Chief Operating Officer David Itskowitch, emailed an official offer to Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions.

and NO, Golovkin did not reject the Ward fight in 36 minutes because his schedule was full..... you excuse-making *******..... because he fought Wade and Brook.....

They knew Ward would be lucky to make 168 and 164 would be impossible. Team GGG could act like they wanted a Ward fight without actually having to fight Ward. This after approving 168 for both Froch and Chavez Jr. After this, Ward moved up to light heavy to fight the #1 guy in the perceived killer Kovalev and GGG drug the #3 or 4 welterweight (Brook) up not one but two weight classes for a fight. So who was looking for tough fights and who wasn't?

What they said: we'll fight anyone from 154 to 168.

What they meant: we'll fight anyone from 154 to 168 as long as HBO approves, as long as we dictate all terms, as long as we get the lions share of the money and as long as your name isn't Andre Ward.

I got a better one...seeing how Loeffler, Abel, and Lil'G huddle in a brainstorm pricing themselves out with Oscar initially...

what do you think Loeffler would have said to Ellerbe if Floyd actually was interested in negotiations?

what would of been the splits that Abel would agree to since ggg WANTED Floyd at 154...

what if K2 never would've fought Floyd when the terms were said on the table, meaning TMT took their bluff, would they have priced themselves out? Could LiL'G actually make 154? Could be they used his name knowing it would never go anywhere.

Because Lil'G wanted no part of Alvarez from 155-159 even though those weights were ''easy...''

could Loeffler and Abel even say 80/20? or 85/15

Same garbage lil G ducked Ward doe. Same poster, different alt.

We don't know if these clowns are actually huge fans of lil G because according to them Ward the #1p4p is the only one who could beat the Kazakh superstar at Ward's weight. Man that's mind-blowingly impressive right there.

Broner and Charlo only had to beat Malignaggi and a one-legged cab driver. lil G had to fight the Son of God. That's an outright admission the Kazakh superstar is legit. LOL.

reminds me of when golovkin was fighting bum after bum after bum and everyone kept saying why doesnt he fight lara? it made sense...lara considered the best at 154..lara had headlined shows on premium and regular cable several times.....and all they would say "omg lara? why? he would kill him"...lol...such a joke
Are you saying the 152 pound Canelo who lost to Mayweather in September 2013 is just as good as the 160 pound Canelo who drew with GGG 4 years later????? Canelo improves with every fight and he is a hell of a lot better at 160 today than he was then at 152 four years ago. There was never any demand for GGG to fight Lara who never beat a middleweight in his life. Only a few GGG haters and Lara lovers like yourself were calling for that fight.Slow, plodding Angulo who Canelo slaughtered knocked Lara down twice and damn near beat him. Damn right GGG would kill Lara and all Lara would do is run like a scared rabbit. Lara hasn't fought anybody good since Canelo almost chased him out of the ring. Lara is supposed to be a world champion but he defends his title against guys boxrec ranks as low as 100th. GGG never defended his title against guys as bad as Lara has been fighting in defense of his title. You call GGG a coward and laugh at his fans while praising Lara. I am proud to be a GGG fan because he comes to fight and never avoided any middleweight. I would never be a fan of a cherry picking, runner of a champion Lara who says he wants to be middleweight champ but won't fight someone like Jacobs to prove himself at 160.

you just admitted that Golovkin, as a ''fan'' you claim to be, would beat Lara...

It's not wrong for boxing purists to believe that Lara would fare well against Golovkin, especially when Lara was calling out GGG on PBC various times and at 160... why didn'T Abel ever call that bluff?

Lara been sparring with the Charlo's for a long time and fought Alvarez... Lara ain't afraid of no Lil'G.

besides all these guys mentioned... Golovkin is the p4p guy remember? This is a boxer who claimed that 154-168 was easy yet didnt fight Nelo at 155-159 nor wanted Lara at 160 but chose Monroe Jr....

the same guy as the fundamental point of this thread was to never want Ward, and only at 164...

FFS man have some pride as a real boxing fan. you did the same thing justifying Pacquiao.. haven't you learned?

why would ggg take a bad deal? cause he said he's willing to fight anyone? pretty sure that doesnt imply he has to take any old deal that comes his way. the ward deal was a joke. instead of trying to fight ggg when he was available he wanted a tune up and for ggg to postpone the wbc fight. wbc had already said they were ordering the fight in nov 2015 and wards own team said they wanted to fight in 2016. it simply made no sense. you dont commit to 2 fights when you have a huge fight next. wards team knew that and made a phony offer. if ward really wanted to fight he would have made and offer for a fight in 2015. he just had a tune up against paul smith but he needed another? give me a break. in politics its called a poison pill. something you put in the bill/contract in order to kill it. ward did just that. you trying to spin your way out of it wont work. it was a bad deal and was rejected. you have to live with it.
Good points made here. Ward fights at LHW, then calls out a middleweight who already has big money fights lined up in his own division ... and asks for a tune-up before fighting him?

WTF!!?? Why would a bigger man need a tune-up before fighting a smaller man who would be moving up for him?

That's the dumbest logic, so we'll play your angle:

                      ''154-168 ez fomi''

Lil'G wanted Bhop at the full 175 in 2013. That's an ability to fight in the realm of 21lbs.

So GGG sacrifices 6 lbs to fight Floyd at 154 ala 2015 after beating MOnroe Jr and says Alvarez hasnt made 154 in years....
Ward sacrifices 8 lbs for Floyd in 2013..

if GGG acknowledged to fight Bhop at the full 175 in 2013 and froch and Chavez at 168 in 2015, are you admitting that Golovkin has a disadvantage against Ward with anything above 164?

Bhop beat Dawson right? But GGG wanted Bhop at 175...

so let's theorize a middleground from 154 to 175 for GGG vs Ward.... half of 21lbs is 10.5? so let's add 10.5 to 160

that's 170.5? That's fair isn't it? Cause Ward fought Smith at a catch of 172 right?
