He was still a world class fighter at 154 and after just not prime

I'm looking at SSM's record and having a hard time finding when he wasn't at his prime before fighting Mayweather.

People often say SSM wasn't at his prime for Mayweather but if you look at his record and performances, he was shítting on cats.

Knocked Margarito out cold in the fight before Mayweather.

Snuffed Mayorga before Margarito.

I thought he got robbed against Cotto. I had Shane winning by a slim margin, but still clearly winning.

Dominated Collazo.

Pretty much ended Vargas' career.

Mosely got wrecked twice by Vernon Forrest.

Then went to 154 for a cashout fight vs de la Hoya and got a very controversial decision

Then he got owned twice by winky wright

I watched Mosleys pro debut and watched 95% of his fights live. Hardly a boxrec warrior. After seeing 7k+ fights I need boxrec as a reminder. Sorry I have a human brain.

16 months, and about 4 of the last were spent in camp. He had a long layoff...and back to back training camps since Berto canceled with no time to rest. So he either plateaued his training for most of his camp for Floyd, or over-trained. Either way, pretty devastating for a 39 year old going into a fight of Floyd's caliber and it showed

Anyone "with wisdom" can see how bad a look it was. I have always maintained that I think he deserved to go out on an easy one, esp since he had just beaten Pac and was finishing up his contract. I don't think less of him for it.

But, that doesn't change the optics of the situation. It only gives the many critics their, "Ah ha! I told you!"
