When was SSM out of his prime?

I'm looking at SSM's record and having a hard time finding when he wasn't at his prime before fighting Mayweather.

People often say SSM wasn't at his prime for Mayweather but if you look at his record and performances, he was shítting on cats.

Knocked Margarito out cold in the fight before Mayweather.

    Snuffed Mayorga before Margarito.

I thought he got robbed against Cotto. I had Shane winning by a slim margin, but still clearly winning.

    Dominated Collazo.

    Pretty much ended Vargas' career.

Where is it because I objectively can't see it --- so what do y'all think and why?

The Mayweather fight was the first time he looked properly old. He was coming off the back of a good victory but he did have a long lay-off before the fight and then looked like **** in the next fight against Mora

This, people can't seem to fathom that Shane was past it when he fought Floyd. He was obviously past his peak for years, but he looked old versus Floyd.

theres a lot of revisionism regarding the mosley win. there was a lot of excitement for that fight when it was signed, and i remember a lot of people saying mayweather was avoiding mosley before it was signed. Now the wins just been chalked off as nothing special

Around 2002/2003. He didn't look good in the Forrest fights which could have been style also but he didn't look good in the Raul Marquez fight or the Oscar re-match (which he probably lost). The Winky losses too possibly due to size and style. He had a few good performances after that but he never captured the form he had in the early 2000's/late 90's. He didn't look that good against a washed up Mayorga. By 38 and inactive for over a year he was pretty much a spent bullet.

Mosley looked a completely different animal in the fights around 2000 when he was whipping a prime Oscar and he looked devastating all the way up to Forrest. If you feel he was equally as good or better in 2010 I really don't know what to say.

he always looked bad over 47 and mora tough style for Mosey with his size and boxing skills.
