Heavyweight boxing is back and we should all be happy.

The heavyweight division looked even more exciting in early 2016 but it didn't really deliver so I'm not having any high expectations this time. In theory, it looks good, but let's wait until these guys actually fight each other.
In the early 2016 Klitschko was just dethroned, Fury was supposed to rematch him while he was also calling out Wilder who was scheduled to fight Povetkin, Haye made a comeback and looked good, Ortiz was in the picture, there was Pulev, Joshua was coming up... Everyone was saying how this will be another great era of heavyweight boxing. Then it just all fell apart with fights being cancelled, Fury going crazy and fighters getting popped for roids, Haye's body broke down... 2016 then turned out to be one of the worst years of heavyweight boxing ever.
This is why I'm not really optimistic this time until I actually see them fight in the ring.
The heavyweights are notorious for their ducking and cherrypicking because it's the division where you earn the most money even if you aren't fighting anyone decent. Being the HW champion alone carries enough prestige to be able to sell the fights, just like Wilder is doing. Joshua could duck everybody with a pulse and he would still fill the arenas. I'm not saying that he will but he easily could.

Lennox Lewis is certainly very close to the top! I have him at the very least in my top 5 and could be persuaded to have him in my top 3. However, Wladimir Klitschko's accomplishments are unparalleled and unsurpassed. So he has to be ranked as the greatest!Comment

Louis' resume is slightly overrated, that's why I didn't list him but your trying to say wins over Baer, Schmelling, Walcott, Sharkey etc. don't matter just because Galento landed a fluke left hook. What happened next? Louis knocked him out in the very next round.
Are you trying to say wins over Fraizer, Liston, Foreman, Folley, Patterson, Moore, Foster, Norton etc don't matter because Ali got dropped by a 190lb Henry Cooper (then got off the floor and won) your an idiot bro.
It's HW boxing people get tagged they get hurt but good fighters find a way to win. Is Wilder a bum cause he got tagged by Molina. Is AJ a bum cause he got tagged by Whyte? Look at the list of fighters Ali and Louis beat. Try and give me a list of who AJ and Wilder have beat in this "golden age" of HW boxing.
You clearly have no understanding of this sport, I could guarantee you haven't watched these fighters of the past, you just look at boxrec and judge and dismiss them without properly studying them as I said uneducated ignoramus.
You'll probably come back spewing more vacuous nonsense but you will not get a serious response from me- because your ignorance does not merit one.
I'm saying this era is just as good as any other, if not better, you're the one saying this era is trash.
You can't say this era is trash when the past eras have shown so many flaws. This isn't the 00's, that era was trash, this is a new era. You said these guys couldn't hang with the golden age of heavies despite the golden age fighters losing or getting dropped in embarrassing fashion by far lesser guys.
Maybe the past eras aren't as good as you believe they are when guys are getting dropped by 185lb fighters, or KO'd by Douglas, McCall, a whole other host of journeymen because that sure as hell isn't happening in this era.
What, you think 200lb fighters from that past era were somehow special? That they could somehow take a harder punch, and hit harder than 200lb men today? That's not how things work. We don't see any men this size in HW boxing today because it's IMPOSSIBLE to generate the power or even have the durability to take these punches.
The best things you can come up to criticize these current fighters is Wilder getting clipped by Molina (which he took with no problem), and a 4 year pro Joshua getting dropped by a 6'6 240lb Klitschko.
Wake me up when they're getting dropped by glorified cruiser weights, and knocked out by journeymen.Last edited by Cutthroat; 11-09-2017, 04:27 PM.Comment

I said tail end of his prime, he wouldn't fight Vitali until 2 years later. Just admit you're wrong.
Last time Lewis was really motivated was after coming back from a KO loss in the rematch. You think Kirk Johnson was going to motivate him?
Like I said, 38 years old, hadn't fought in a year, already beat Tyson, this guy came in at 256lbs and beat a young hungry Vitali. This guy was carrying around 10lbs of pure fat in the ring compared to the motivated version that fought Rahman in their 2nd fight.Comment

More lies🤥🤥🤥 "Prime Lewis was knocked out by Rahman" your exact words and no mention of tail end.I said tail end of his prime, he wouldn't fight Vitali until 2 years later. Just admit you're wrong.

As I said you don't merit no more serious responses from me now.
Your an ignorant fool 😴😴😴😴😴
Go and enjoy your imaginary "golden age" of HW boxing where not one fighter has a legit win to their name😭😭😭😭😭Comment

I heard he's fighting Tom Little next month on the Bellew-Haye II undercard. That is a cracking matchup for his second pro fight. I love how he's taking out the trash in his early career. Little is an annoying coont from down south who professes to be a gypsy, tries to act hard and calls out fighters who'd wipe the floor with him. Gonna enjoy seeing him get a reality check.Comment

Mitch Green 6'5 went a full 12 with Tyson
James Smith 6'4 went a full 12 with Tyson
Tony Tucker 6'5 went a full 12 with Tyson
Lewis 6'5 knocked out Tyson
Tyson is the hardest hitting, BEST, short HW of all time and even he had trouble generating enough power to KO taller fighters.
Consider yourself educated. Seriously though, re-evaluate everything you have ever learned about boxing, if you could be THIS wrong, think about how wrong you are about everything else.Last edited by Cutthroat; 11-10-2017, 02:48 PM.Comment
