Heavyweight boxing is back and we should all be happy.

After the 10+ years of Klitschko dominance and no real challengers, we're entering another golden age.

    Anthony Joshua
    Joseph Parker
    Deontay Wilder

    Dominic Breazeale
    Jarrell Miller
    Andy Ruiz Jr.
    Charles Martin
    Dillian Whyte

    Luis Ortiz
    Alexander Povetkin
    Kubrat Pulev
    Carlos Takam

    Daniel Dubois
    Joe Joyce
    Tony Yoka

This is looking super healthy right now, and wide open. In the next five years we're likely going to see a true ATG emerge from this era.

And this isn't even including the return of the best out of the lot, The Gypsy King.

The HWT division is more exciting. It would be that much better if Wlad and Fury were active.

The heavyweight division looked even more exciting in early 2016 but it didn't really deliver so I'm not having any high expectations this time. In theory, it looks good, but let's wait until these guys actually fight each other.

In the early 2016 Klitschko was just dethroned, Fury was supposed to rematch him while he was also calling out Wilder who was scheduled to fight Povetkin, Haye made a comeback and looked good, Ortiz was in the picture, there was Pulev, Joshua was coming up... Everyone was saying how this will be another great era of heavyweight boxing. Then it just all fell apart with fights being cancelled, Fury going crazy and fighters getting popped for roids, Haye's body broke down... 2016 then turned out to be one of the worst years of heavyweight boxing ever.

This is why I'm not really optimistic this time until I actually see them fight in the ring.

The heavyweights are notorious for their ducking and cherrypicking because it's the division where you earn the most money even if you aren't fighting anyone decent. Being the HW champion alone carries enough prestige to be able to sell the fights, just like Wilder is doing. Joshua could duck everybody with a pulse and he would still fill the arenas. I'm not saying that he will but he easily could.

You were cooler with the Calzaghe pic.... at least the Welshman was active bro.

Im starting to like Fury since he supports Wilder, but let's be honest, Fury is an embarrassment. It wil take Fury at least 3 strategic tune up fights to get his rhythm back. Even so, I find it impossible for post Fury permanent rust to truly beat Wilder or Klitschko..

                  Its a bit sad
