I forgot about the Tucker thing, I think they were doing a unification tournament and Spinks probably wanted to cash out and knew he would get the winner. Would've been nice to see Spinks against Evander back then, no?
Yea very much At least in 86-87 after that he was too old for holy but great fight.btw I boxed also only ams and only little over 20 fights but I have been in there also.

No, I watched it live. He was scared to death. Throwing punches after the KD is fine but they had little on them and he was just trying to survive.

He was a light heavy that was in over his head, and it showed.

Well we will just have to agree to disagree because he was not scared to death that's for damn sure. And one punch he threw after KD had EVERTHING on it.But he was in over his head cant argue that.

If im right only Spinks has been lineal at both weights.

I know the likes of Charles and Tunney were only denied the LHW title due to politics, but still a great and historic achievement for Spinks.

Actually was Moorer ever lineal at LHW?

Edit nevermind see this has already been done in this thread

Did you see it live? Just the Youtube vid?

You should have seen him pre-fight, he looked like he wanted to crawl underneath the carpet.

The only other fighter that looked that scared against Tyson was Seldon who had this frightened grin on his way to the ring. Spinks had a similar demeanor.

Spinks just get lost in the shuffle a bit but then again so does anyone in the shadow of true stars. Lots of heavies are forgotten due to Ali, the same has happened to spinks and tyson.

Its important to remember spinks is one of only I think 2 or 3 light heavies to win THE heavyweight championship. And his hw reign is actually one of the best ever.

You are correct sir.Spinks only lineal champ.Moorer was not even a real titlest at 175 much less lineal. He held the WBO before ANYONE reconized it.And won it from some dude who was not even in top 15-20.

And like I said in 1st post Spinks admitted to being afraid before ALL his big fights(title fights). But it did not effect him. my 2 cents anyways
