That's probably the case! I don't think those who claim Floyd Mayweather Jr would beat Golovkin at 160 pounds are being genuine. As in, I doubt they truly believe in it themselves! If the bout happened and they were forced to bet their lives, I doubt they will have as much confidence in Floyd Mayweather Jr then.
Do people seriously believe Floyd Mayweather Jr could beat Gennady Golovkin at 160?

The bottom line here is IF Floyd was the same size as GGG at any weight class so long as they were the same size, in this scenario Floyd would school the mortal sht out of Golovkin it would be a total whitewash.
So the whole deal here with GGG beating Floyd is all because he so much bigger its the only way people can talk of Floyd and defeat in the same sentence, as far as fighters go P4P Floyd makes GGG look average.Comment

This thread has nothing to do with hypothetical / fantasy pound for pound match ups that can't possibly happen. It is an actual head to head match up at 160 pounds. Could Floyd Mayweather Jr beat Gennady Golovkin at 160 pounds without any catch weights or rehydration clauses? The answer for me is a resounding no!
As fighters go Floyd is so much better than GGG its not even debatable, so carry on with your fantasy fight as that's the only way you can beat Floyd.Comment

When a guy starts at 130 moves and wins 5 divisions and has never been close to 160 even on fight night then 160 is a fantasy fight lol , so really you just shot yourself in the head.

Also, this thread isn't a question of who is a 'better' boxer but if Floyd Mayweather Jr could beat Golovkin head to head at 160 pounds.Comment

Floyd always does something to take glory away from himselfComment

For this thread, this bout is taking place at 160 pounds. So there isn't any rehydration clauses for either guy. Gennady Golovkin has to make 160 pounds on fight night though. Whilst both could weigh whatever they want on fight night for this bout.Comment

floyd better than ggg? come on dude. guy went life and death with maidana and castillo. ggg would never do that. hes too skilled to be bullied like that. floyds only good against strictly one dimensional counter punchers like marquez and canelo. ggg can fight all styles as we have seen: canelo, jacobs, lemieux. floyds only good against that one style. foyd even got outboxed by judah and pac in the center of the ring. i cant see how floyd is better than ggg. neither guy has a great resume so we have to go on performances and varieties of styles faced and ggg faced the tougher wider variety of styles(unless you count the old shot fighters floyd fought which would be silly since shot fighters dont ofter much)Comment

I didn't really 'shoot myself in the head' because this is also a 'fantasy fight' for me too. I personally don't think Floyd Mayweather Jr could fight Gennady Golovkin at 160 pounds either. This thread was created for people who think / believe that Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Gennady Golovkin at 160 pounds isn't a fantasy fight and who genuinely believe Floyd could actually beat Golovkin at 160 pounds.
Also, this thread isn't a question of who is a 'better' boxer but if Floyd Mayweather Jr could beat Golovkin head to head at 160 pounds.
Floyd at 160 is exactly that .Comment
