I don't remember Rigondeaux in wbs. If he competed there he should have more fights on his record. Cuba have their athletes working when not competing. And they have a leave of absence when in training or competing. They never get pay for the fights just like any other amateur in the world.

They don't have head gear anymore.

And americans are freaked out about paying. I saw a student who was DQ for taking money for food from just a guy nearby hotel. Fking imbecil rules there: you play in college bringing millions but when you are in 80% who didn't succeed to pro teams you end up on shty job without proper institute knowledge while looking at sport games where they took you paying royaltees to University... which payed you no penny.

If Rigo pulls off the win (which I think he will) he might as well retire because nobody will want to fight him then. lol

Maybe that's how it works in Cuba but athletes do get paid to train and compete as amateurs.

So should every amateur bout be considered a professional bout now?
They wear no headgear and get paid.

Also, the WSB is still way similar to amateur boxing than professional boxing.
It gets judged the same, it gets officiated the same way, competing against other amateur boxers, bigger gloves, etc.

People are calling Rigo the jawbreaker, but how many Jaws has he actually broken?
                One. Jazza ****ens..

Contrary to popular belief he did not break Amagasa's jaw and orbital bone it just ended up being severe swelling.
Or does anyone have prove that he actually broke Amagasa's jaw?

So you know more than I do. I'm Cuban and play baseball there. So they do work or a least they are on a company payroll. And when they win a Gold Medal, the government give them a bicycle which they usually exchange for some food...

If you get pay for what you do, in this case boxing. You are a professional fighter. Being sponsored is not the same as being pay for a fight. Cuban athletes are being sponsored by their government. Either by giving them a job where they can easily train or in the ministry of interior (police)

USA athletes have it worst. If they take a penny they are disqualified, while other countries do it in impunity
