on a side note, I have no idea why that one "sports world" commercial chose Lacy to represent boxing because Lacy hadn't even won a real big fight yet. if he had beat Calzaghe, I could see it. he jumped the gun for his superstardom and probably will never get it now.
When people say it wasn't the real Lacy....they don't mean that as an excuse (at least I don't). They mean that he choked. At least that's what I mean. I hate it but listen to Lacy after the fight, he was being honest. Remember that inteview with the St. Pete's newspaper a couple days after the fight? GREAT read. He basically failed himself. He got in the spotlight and he didn't know what to do. So...saying it wasn't him at his best isn't an excuse...it's a reason and a concern. I think the experience will payoff though. He has A LOT of work to do and that could very well mess him up but I don't think it will and I think he will be back. It's not taking anything away from Calzaghe, AT ALL. Calzaghe came to fight and basically exposed Lacy. I think Lacy could have won that fight. I still do. Everyone was saying how Calzaghe would outbox Lacy but he fought Lacy's fight like I thought he would and still beat him. He is a master gameplanner and he knew how to get inside Lacy's head. He did. Lacy couldn't handle the adversity. Not an excuse and not taking anything away from Calzaghe. Hell I was more impressed with Calzaghe that night then I think I have ever been with any fighter ever.

And that's not being unrealistic, either. His hands are in a terrible state!
