I just wonder if he has burned bridges for future fights. Will Arum make Loma/Garcia or Crawford/Garcia? Mikey won't get Linares or Matthysse now without GBP. Pickings are getting slim. Won't be surprised if we see him fighting Khan next year.

Mickey did what's best for him & not what's best for GB or Cotto for that matter. Mickey got a good head on his shoulders.

He can start calling their bluff like Rigo did.....the industry don't like the spot light on them.......

Lol at certain posters acting like they care about Mikey Garcia's future. It cool keep lining em up Haymon & Mikey Garcia will beat em, 1st Easter, then Thurman, Porter & Spence. Hell Mikey could finish his career with a Charlo.

            Smart move by Garcia...

Why sign a three fight contract. Garcia will get Linares anyway because of the sanctioning bodies in their division. So GBP is really just offering Cotto and "maybe" one other big fight. However he would get less money fighting Linares if he signs with GBP vs being independent. GBP should have made the fight with Garcia vs Cotto.

Linares is a mandatory, he could fight Mikey like he says he wants to or lose his status as mandatory and champion. Mikey doesn't it need GB for that fight, and if GB don't want to negotiate then Mikey could just force a purse bid. GB hasn't done much for Linares, he's been fighting in the UK on cards promoted by his opponents.

His best option would be signing with GBP. They would build him up on HBO and he would be making way more money than he is now.

What kind of guidance is that when he's starting Mikey, a lightweight, with Cotto at 154 (3 divisions higher)? That's BS.

Naw! Oscar have to respect it because HE DID THE SAME THING after leaving Bob Arum. Got With Schaefer and built his own Promotion. It is nothing wrong if Mikey wants to do the same! Mikey I think can do well because he has a Boxing Family that is respected, his Brother, his Father working with him. I think he can put on his own Cards in California and Draw very well!

Mike Avoided another Mistake by signing with a Promotion after he been through hell and back trying to get out of his deal with Arum. How could anybody including Oscar blame him for not wanting to into another long term contract. Mikey will make his money regardless!
