True, but 8 months between fights is a long time, especially if you're trying to prove you're top guy.

Sounds like he's been trying to get bigger fights but got avoided by a lot of people.

I wish they go back to weighing the fighters in on the day of the fight so these guys who should be fighting in one or two weight classes above them won't be able to fight as middleweights when their light heavyweights. Anyone else see the problem with this?? If your fighting for the middleweight title you should fight as a middleweight and not at light heavyweight. There needs to be some type of real honest weight limit at fight time for cryin out loud. Bad enough we went from 15 rounds to 12 then added a ton of extra divisions and world championship titles but now we have fighters weighing in up to almost 48 hours before a fight then hydrating up one or two weight divisions.

So in the history of boxing, no fighter has been knocked down and got up to win the title?

This. Jacobs said it all when the final bell rang and he fell down to his knees by the ropes or whatever can’t remember at the moment but the message either way was clear. He was emotionally and physically exhausted and he was overjoyed at having lasting all 12 rounds and going the distance with Golovkin. I thought Tony Bellew said it best when he was talking with a British tv commentator who said Jacobs won and Bellew saidnsomething to the effect of “He didn’t win. He did better than we expected. He did better than the oddsmakers, the public and everyone was thinking before the fight. And I give him credit for that. He fought hard and should hold his head high. But he lost the fight. I think some people are gettin a bit carried away just because he did better than expected.”

Nothing at all. Good fighter. Is he a fighter that will catapult you into superstar status??? I’ll let you and the rest of boxingscene answer that question. It’s not a knock on Lemieux at all.

It's not the best. Arguably beating GGG > fake draw after clear loss.
