More hilarious part is he can't get steady fights from the PBC camp.
Broner will most likely be his last major fight for a long while.
Why he's even calling out fighters outside of PBC/Sho is beyond comprehension.
He's finding out it's full of part-time fighters.
The only person that comes into mind that didn't have a full time promoter was Benard Hopkins, but it took him forever to do good money.

His first 2 fights at PBC was a mere $750K, total. That's $325K each.
Which he was already getting at TR fighting guys someone already beat.
Look at Loma, the guy who was a nobody when Mikey was already a star at TR.
Loma has been getting $1 mil without having to fight name like Broner.
Crawford is getting more than $1 mill fighting the likes of Lundy, Jean, Molina, Diaz, and got one PPV fight.
      It's like day and night.
You do realize that bringing up those purses doesn't refute anything I wrote right? The initial point was about his activity level. I highlighted that he fought twice this year for good money, and has more options than probably everybody not named Thurman, Alvarez, or Joshua.

Idk how brining up the purses for 2 guys (from a camp of dozens at TR), refutes the point I was making. He's not worried about being active or money right now. He's in a wonderful place for his career by any objective measure. He's making more than 95% of fighters, and has all types of options. The fact that this thread is about a possible Cotto fight highlights where he's reached in his career. Few guys have that going on. He could fight when he wants.

Good point. In the end it's not about money for Hopkins.
It's probably more about proving something.
And all I know was he never had any problem fighting on either HBO or Sho.
He had friends on both sides.

This is one example of where the alphabet groups actually do some good.

By calling for mandatories they force fights to happen regardless of promoter bull****. Either guys fight each other or duckers are exposed when they choose to relinquish their spot instead.

Very few fighters make "good money"

If Mikey makes Andre Ward money (career earnings between $20 - $30 million; Hopkins and Jones are probably in this range too based on their PPV history, maybe both are a little higher) he would've done really well for himself. He's 29 and probably looking at fours years of competitive fights left. Now is the time to get the best deals.

There's literally only about 10 guys since the adoption of PPV by HBO to break the bank.

Mikey is a special fighter and that long break he took set him back in terms of fame and pay. He would have been one of the biggest names in boxing right now. He would had made big money sooner instead of floating around like he is at this moment.

Agreed interesting to see what happens when there is already said and expressed that he wants to face Mikey

Agreed and interesting to see what happens,, Linares already expressed that he wants to fight Mikey several times.. I know he is not going to just give the title up because Golden Boy said so, hopefully he forces GB to send Mikey a contract

People blaming cotto for a lame last fight but it's gddn boys fault. According to ring magazine, garcia, Thurman, Spence, were all offered the fight but I'm sure golden boy trying to sign garcia and not having a working relationship with pbc ruined any chance of those fights happening.

His family has tons of money I'm sure. He had to sit out, not like he had much of a choice if I remember correctly.

You're right, I don't know what the deal was. Based on all the interviews I've seen him in, Mikey is probably isn't seeing the big picture if you know what I mean.
