Lol. Ward and it isn't close.
Who has the better legacy? Joe Calzaghe or Andre Ward?

Why on earth would you say that? While I agree that Ward gets the nod. The thread is at least noteworthy. Both retired as undefeated titleholders or champions at the Light heavyweight division.
In addition, outside of the Super Six which happened over eight years ago, Ward has only two notable opponents only his resume and that is Chad Dawson and Sergei Kovalev.
Outside of those opponents he has fought a total of only four times against opponents like: Edwin Rodríguez, Paul Smith, Sullivan Barrera and Alexander Brand. If it had not been for his wins over Sergei Kovalev, then this thread would have probably never been made.Comment

He arguably lost to Robin Reid of all people and Hopkins, has numerous early stoppage wins like the Manfredo fight, and has been down numerous times against journeymen level fighters.I think it's funny that there are so many "ward easy" posts. In a couple of years after the dust settles from ward's retirement, people will be better able to make this call.
For me, it's Calzaghe. He has better wins in a better fashion with minimal controversy (Hello Ms. Byrd!)
It's Ward hands down.Comment

The Eubank that already lost to Collins? That was on the verge of retirement? That was scheduled to fight at cruiser and had to drop 20lbs in 1 week to fight Calzaghe? Better than Froch?

-Lacy went life and death with journeyman Omar Sheika 2 years before fighting Calzaghe. He's below the level of Alexander Brand who has never struggled with journeymen. It's whatever you like but its not this clear undisputable thing the hate crew make it on here. Lacy was a good win, that has been changed by revisionist history now. Calzaghe beat Kessler in good clean style, not on cuts from head clashes. The Hopkins he's beat is termed old, but went on to do well, beating Pavlik and Pascal ect. The Eubank Calzaghe beat was to me at least as good as Froch. Joe himself was advanced in years when he beat Jones out of sight. No, it's not a clear thing. And I think Calzaghe is an arsehole.
-Eubank was on the verge of retirement, 2 losses to Collins, he was scheduled to fight at Cruiser but jumped in for Calzaghe with 1 week to go and had to lose 20lbs.
No idea how you can compare him to prime Carl Froch.
-Ward fought Kessler with a mere 4 years pro experience, completely blew him out whereas Kessler won around 3-4 rounds vs Calzaghe.
-Hopkins arguably beat Calzaghe, the replays exposed Joe's phantom punching badly.
Joe fought 1 guy worth noting in his prime, Kessler, the man who Ward blew out despite being very green.
Ward fought prime Froch, Kovalev 2x, Kessler, Barrera, Dawson, Rodriguez, Abraham. It's not even close.Comment

The Kovalev wins would seem to make this a non-debatable topic to me unless you are a Calzaghe fanboy or aren't counting Kov due to the controversy some cats have with both those fights. Respect to Calzaghe, but I don't see much of a argument to make unless we are removing Kovalev.Comment
