Comments Thread For: Hearn: Inactive Fighters Calling Non-Stop Since Jacobs Signing!

NEW YORK Boxers seeking a promoter and HBO exposure have been calling Eddie Hearn non-stop since the British promoter announced September 23 that he has signed former middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs. Like Jacobs, many of those fighters want to be more active and want to reach the broadest audience possible. Hearn wants to sign more fighters for his company's American division, Matchroom Boxing USA, but he has been careful not to add too much, too soon as he attempts to establish his fledgling business in the U.S. market.

Unless Danny starts magically selling out arenas, I don't really see what added benefit Hearn brings. I think HBO was the key variable and correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that Eddie came with HBO.

I think Danny would've went with HBO without Hearn in a heartbeat.

Like the mention of Spence lol every promoter in the sport wants to sign him for good reason. He won't lose at 147 period.

I'd love to see Spence sign with Hearn. Hope he's the next guy Hearn does a deal with.

And glad to see Hearn getting these calls cuz he's the best promoter in the game in my eyes today & him coming to the US is a potential game changer for this market cuz mfers are gonna need to put in work to keep up with Hearn. Hearn, unlike most American promoters, actually knows how to promote his fighters +/& maybe more importantly an event.

Idk about that. PBC gots a bunch of promoters that offer little thus Haymon advises his fighters not to sign promotional deals with them. With Hearn in the game he's the type of guy PBC fighters should wanna sign with. He's a promoters promoter ffs. He can outplay & for sure out promote most of these American boxing promoter dipsh^ts on a bad day.

I know he's hurt now but come on Keith Thurman. One way or another his inactivity is going to come back and bite him. Errol Spence is coming for him and I think he's a class above One Time.

As a boxing fan I don't know how you could possibly be a fan or why you defend Al Haymon. He has a massive roster of fighters who I've all but forgotten because they fight once a year, or not at all. What is there to like about Haymon's management style, yeah he gets the fighters paid (you're not making that money), handsomely, and in some cases to fight nobodies but what's that got to do with me. He took a massive amount of money from a trust fund, spent all of it and now his fighters are just sitting, in their prime, great fighters such as Errol Spence Jr..
