I think Mikey controls his own destiny more than few cats in boxing today. The only way this fight doesn't happen if Oscar doesn't make the fight cuz Mikey won't sign away options or sign with GBP in general. I believe this was already a fight being looked at & thats why it didn't happen already cuz Mikey doesn't wanna sign his promotional rights away long term.

Mikey has a history of talking trash to big names and then fighting bums, its only fitting hes in protective boxing custody with haymon who encourages mismatches

Hard to get fans excited for big money fights without trash talking. And all these promoters see the huge upside in Mikey being that Mexicans are the backbone of the sport in the US thus want him to sign longer term deals then Mikey wants. Thats the problem. Not anything else.

Linares has spent the last few years fighting Euro bums... Mikey was ready to fight Linares in July but Linares team wanted him to fight in late Sept. Now Mikey is going to fight in December, if Linares really wants it then fight Mikey in December. Mikey isn't going to wait for Linares, if Linares isn't ready to fight he's going to move on and fight the next big fighter available.
