But there is no evidence of steroids. He did not test positive for that so I have to give him the benefit of the doubt. But I really think that if were taking enough steroids to increase his BP enough to need meds to lower it he'd have back of from them. It makes no sense for an athlete to take that much if it has those kinds of side effects on you. It's different if your a body-builder and you can still pose even though you feel like crap. But obviously if your a boxer and it's sending your BP up and causing fatigue...it just ain't working for you. so no...I don't think he used to for that.

Nothing to see here. Fight better not get canceled over this petty crap.
Oh didn't realise this. So what meds is he on for his diabetes?

Now I'm feeling sorry for Wilder - who knew that would happen - 3 opponents in a row.

Just shows that if Vada was used 365 days a year for all contenders then probably at least half of all boxers would be found cheating

Why are people acting like it's ok to take a substance that's on the banned list even if it's prescribed by a doctor? You still have to get an exemption.

By preventing the action of angiotensin II, losartan reduces how much work your heart has to do and lowers your blood pressure. (https://patient.info/medicine/losart...blocker-cozaar)

It opens up your blood vessels so your heart doesn't have to work as hard. Which increases endurance, stamina. Which is a major, major part of a 12 round fight, especially for a heavyweight of Ortiz's stature. He has been popped before too. If you are a professional athlete and have already been caught with peds before, and you know you are getting tested, you should make sure any prescription drugs you are prescribed are allowed.

Try throwing punches for three minutes while moving around the whole time. Then realize how big Ortiz is, and how much stamina and endurance is needed for any boxer, but especially a hw. Its not just a diuretic. It is actually prescribed to make your heart not have to work as hard. Which would definitely enhance Ortiz's performance. He knew what he was doing, and that was enhancing his performance by taking a banned substance.

I really want this fight to happen, but I don't see how Wilder can, after the fiasco with Povetkin. And after telling Ortiz not to f this up by failing a ped test. God dang, after all that, Ortiz takes peds?!? The idiot should be banned for life, just for being so incredibly ******. This was his payday. He is already an old man. Should have taken his beating for the money. If you are already that ******, you shouldn't be getting punched in the head by professional heavyweight boxers.
Well that was a lot to do about nothing.

Angiotensin II & Losartan are NOT on the VADA list of banned substances...HCLZ/Hydrochlorothiazide is. End of argument.

As well...I can't find a single post anywhere linking losartan as a PED for any athlete. But hydrochlorothiazide (the diuretic) is a banned substance used for cutting weight. If you can link me to anything that says losartan enhances athletic performance please do so. But in any event regardless...it is not a banned substance so....
