Right. Still, I'm not sure why this Jacobs/Haymon relationship is a huge issue when the missing piece is Showtime, which is the real issue. Has Showtime given up on Jacobs or possibly other fighters? Why can't Hearn do the same business with Showtime?

I assume itll be easier for Jacobs to get certain fighters being on HBO. Showtime have invested more into 147 and 154, and itll give more chance to get those guys more fights.

Well he is an Adviser, his job is to make sure his fighters get the best deal possible. The fighters are Free to go make fighters on their own that is what Chavez Jr and Khan did with Canelo, both are with Haymon as well so

Not a big deal but of course you always have idiots making things up to fit their Narrative

Haymon is a smart guy.. He knows he has way too many fighters for Showtime to show them all more than once or twice a year.. So he's teamed up with the best promoter and is letting some of his stable of fighters go on HBO.. So now he has his fighters in Showtime aswel as HBO! Brilliant move for boxing.

I also think a lot of people don't account for the change in leadership at HBO. The network head that was at odds with Haymon isn't there anymore.

I think it should also be said that the GBP ppv events probably restored faith in boxing as a viable sport for the network. You have to assume they liked the returns from the Canelo PPVs when you consider his lowish guarantees and the buy rates.

Glad to see Danny get some love l. I expect to see more deals like this soon for Haymon guys (maybe Mikey Garcia next?) Too bad the Top Rank guys aren't in the mix.

Haymon fighters can be as connected or disconnected from promoters & networks as they waanna be.
Haymon still has Fox and CBS for network fights. There's also spent still NBC out there and he's already worked with them. The PBC brand will live on, I'd guess that HBO will have PBC branded shows, what a trip that will be.

In essence, TR and ESPN is all that stands in the way of total domination of US Boxing. K2 and GBP are one fighter companies at this point. RNS is finished with Ward gone. ME hanging by a thread. It's all but over..

Idk if HBO will be down with subbranding their shows "PBC" shows. Haymon doesn't have the same kinda relationship with HBO as he has with Showtime. Idk if Hearn will be on board with that exactly either with this new HBO relationship he has. I won't be surprised if both HBO & Hearn feel they don't need to throw Haymon that sorta bone.
