  • Comments Thread For: Daniel Jacobs Clarifies Role of Al Haymon in Eddie Hearn Union

This past Saturday night, former middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs) officially revealed that he signed a multi-fight promotional agreement with UK-based promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport. Jacobs also signed a multi-fight agreement with HBO. When all of the news was revealed, there was a lot of confusion over the relationship between Jacobs and his longtime adviser, Al Haymon.

Their role is to protect him from another ass beating at the hands of Undisputed Pound For Pound Champion Gennady GGG Golovkin.

Get ready to pack yo **** and fight on Joshua's undercard in the UK.

Edit: Oh yeah nvm Joshua is with Showtime, still maybe you can fight on Kell Brook undercards tho.

Not sure why there was so much confusion, Eddie Hearn and Al Haymon have always had a good relationship. Eddie will be the actual promoter and Al will be his advisor.

It' really a case of parties (Haymon/HBO) having no choice but to work together considering the lack of fighters on one side and the other needing more dates for his fighters on the other.

We should expect other Haymon fighters fighting on HBO sometime soon.

Because some of these silly posters keep praying for the fall of Haymon, which won't happen for the foreseeable future.

If Hearn starts working with more Haymon guys that'll be a good for those guys thats for sure. Don't know what that'll mean for the PBC brand, but like I've been saying since the start because Haymon has a adivisor relationship with all these guys he can take a very fluid approach with promoter/network relationships from what he's been doing to what it appears he might be doing now with these recent Frampton + Jacobs situations. Haymon fighters can be as connected or disconnected from promoters & networks as they waanna be.
