I agree with the last part but the main subject seems to ignore that he's no longer fighting garbage like Lemieux and Rosado. He's fighting decent opposition now and that has a LOT to do with it. People just can't admit that they may have hyped him a little much.

There is a camp on this site who are a little too critical of a 35 year old who's cleaned up at middle and just beaten the so called future of boxing in the eyes of most people. Canelo was supposed to destroy him before the fight. Now he's overhyped for actually having a competitive fight. The goal posts keep moving. Why would he not be showing some kind of age related decline at 35? Why only him?
