Anyway, I still think it's hard to say he doesn't have an A-list of names on his resume. If you don't like the way in which he earned those victories fine, but you can't call em bums now

However, I do know that if Kovalev or GGG had Ward's resume...the haters would be shytting all over it talking about what a bum Abraham is, Kessler one-dimensional, Froch a hype job. There is a definite double standard that exists.

Ward underachieved. In doing so, he was a dirty and often dull fighter. He won't be missed. Not by me and maybe not even by his 8,000 fans.

Like you will remember a headbutt more than you will the Froch fight? You will remember an obscure elbow from 8 years ago more than the Dawson TKO. You will remember a borderline body punch more than the hard right he landed that dazed Kov?

Those are not minor blips. They're just the most famous ones.

The only people who will give these videos any credence are people who already have an agenda and are looking for validation.

I knew he was bad about butting and holding but that video is unreal. he should have been arrested after the Kessler fight purse taken away. I say Kessler and Bika would have easily beaten him without the unbelievable tactics the son of the devil used. how in gods name the ref did not disqualify him in those fights?

Good point about the use of the term bum. Anyway I'd say Froch > Kessler > Abraham. I wouldn't call Abraham A-level. Kessler is solid. Froch was a big win.

But if you really feel that way, I'd love to hear a win that GGG or Kovalev have that is as good and convincing as Ward-Froch that people deride as a win over a 'hype job'. It's not enough to just say that's what other posters would do, show me some reason I should buy that.

He beat the best fighters of his division then moved up and beat the best fighter of that division, plus a solid win in Barrera to boot. Granted that many felt Ward lost the first Kov fight and Barrera was inexperienced at the time.

It strikes me as wild that anyone can call that 'underachieving'. Can't even imagine what it takes to achieve then.

None of his wins were surrounded in controversy. Controversy is when the media questions a bad verdict. A bunch of butthurt bigots (not you) and non Americans whining and going out of their way to denigrate and downplay Ward's wins in internet forums isn't "controversy".

If that is how you choose to remember him, Then you are ******ed, Szef.

edit: it just seems crazy that a fight like Kessler, which has all but been forgotten by most, wil somehow shape how Ward is seen.
