I wouldn't say he was a habitual dirty fighter or anything...but he did commit some clear intentional fouls. I will remember him as a hard working overachiever who was also a bit overrated by some. he beat who was in front of him, and that's about all you can ask of a fighter.
Will Ward be remembered as a CHEATER and DUCKER?

He is a great boxer, true but he'll surely be remembered as a dirt bag before that.Comment

What's confusing about the bold?
Yes, a large number of writers thought he lost to Kovalev in the first fight. That doesn't mean they will remember him as a "cheater and ducker" as the OP claims, nor does it contradict what I said about them voting Ward into the HOF or remembering Ward as one of the best fighters of this era.
Claiming hes no.1 while admitting he lost kovalev 1 contradict each other. Hence why i posted the reply i didComment

I'll remember him as an entitiled, arrogant, very dirty fighter who's almost every big win was surrounded by controversy.
Not because I made up all those things about him or because I'm mad because he beat my favourite fighters (which he didn't), it's because he actually was all those things and that can be easily proven by videos and articles.
And I'm a boxing fan.
If that is how you choose to remember him, Then you are ******ed, Szef.
edit: it just seems crazy that a fight like Kessler, which has all but been forgotten by most, wil somehow shape how Ward is seen.Last edited by The Big Dunn; 09-21-2017, 02:48 PM.Comment

And they don't contradict each other because I didn't say they rated him #1 after the Kovalev 1 fight. Because they didn't. He wasn't rated #1 till later.Comment

How are a few internet wack jobs going to shape how people remember Ward?
Ducker? Ward never ducked anyone. The only people that think he did again are internet dregs and trolls.
I just don't see how they shape opinion on Ward.Last edited by The Big Dunn; 09-21-2017, 02:50 PM.Comment

Yes. Because Ward will only be remembered by two factions--hard care boxing fans (casuals don't know he exists) and sportswriters & boxing analysts. The sheep who typically run with the herd in magazines and on websites will be kinder to him. The fans of boxing, will be torn--his fans and supporters will think that dirty foul-filled wins over Abraham, Kessler, Froch, Barrera, Kovalev and others is enough to grant ATG status on him. The majority of boxing fans will remember him as a boring, dirty fighter whose resume isn't lined with A-list opponents or even one ATG.Comment

No I didn't say universally. I said almost universally. Ring magazine, ESPN, TBRB for instance have had him rated #1 since the Kov 2 fight.
And they don't contradict each other because I didn't say they rated him #1 after the Kovalev 1 fight. Because they didn't. He wasn't rated #1 till later.
My broader point was you (not specifically you) pick and choose when to use the boxing writers/journalists opinions When it suits the narrative.
Ignore the fact they scored the the fight to kovalev, thats just opinion man, what do they know anyway? look they all say hes p4p no.1 look!Comment

Explain this please. ward has literally no articles about him calling him dirty. He is called dirty exclusively in internet forums. The majority of those are not rational fans, but guys like mlac, Freedom, hype job, etc etc.
