Canelo was more mobile than ever before. So what? Doesn't matter. He stood toe-to-toe with Gennady plenty of times, and he also deliberately placed himself on the ropes, several times and beckoned to Golovkin, and he still could barely land a shot. Golovkin had plenty of opportunities to ply his "Mexican style" but Canelo's defense wouldn't permit it. It was a close fight, that everyone should watch more than once, so they can be sure of what they thought they saw.

People who claim Golovkin won comfortably (there are a lot), must be giving him rounds just for coming forward and swinging, albeit at air. Canelo was far more accurate, and I daresay gave Gennady a boxing lesson at times. Alvarez gassed out and his punch output dropped, after the halfway point. After two viewings, I scored the fight a draw: Rounds 1,2,3,6,9, and 12 to Canelo. 4,5,7,8,10 (extremely close round), and 11 to Gennady. No matter who won the round, it was never by far. Again, it was a close fight, in which Canelo didn't do quite enough, and Golovkin wasn't quite effective enough.

Canelo fought to survive GGG and backed up repeatedly

Canelo lost the fight as all in boxing realize except for the mexicans but that is understandable. Canelo's back was on the ropes the whole fight as GGG was the aggressor coming forward throwing punches as Canelo backed up and fought in spurts. Boxing has been fixed for 100 years and is mob controlled along with greedy seedy promoters. Boxing is not a sport but a fricking business.

I'm so tired of hearing this bull****. Why is it these so called world beaters whine to high heaven about their opponent not standing still and slugging it out with them?

Oh he raaan, he didn't stand still and let my fighter look good, whaaa!

It's gotten old, it's not Canelo job to make GGG look invincible, it's his job to beat him, and that means countering his strengths and taking advantage of his weaknesses on of which is his lack of speed.

Go screw yourself Sanchez, you should thank Canelo for bringing you this payday you begged him to move up for because your robot fighter was too scared to lose to ward.

Now we all know without one shimmer of doubt, that Ward would have schooled and beaten the brakes off Golovkin. Even though I knew this personally, it is not even debatable anymore.

                  Green mother***ing K!!!

It's getting annoying how all these so called boxing fans are upset that Canelo didn't stand and trade with GGG for 3 mins of all 12 rounds which would be beyond ******!

These the same fans that if Canelo would've did that and got KO'd they still would've *****ted on him and made memes or if he KO'd GGG they would've said he's on something or GGG took a dive!

Why is all the onus on Canelo but not even a little on GGG? This is the guy that's supposed to make a big drama show and he failed yet everyone blames Canelo cuz he's supposed to stand there and let Golovkin hit him and brawl.......that's not BOXING!!

I've been arguing with idiots who have no idea what the sweet science is and they act like they know!

They keep bringing up Canelo's inactivity but what's worse!

A fighter making B fighter miss so many times and pay with the harder more accurate shots!

Or B fighter coming forward more and throwing more than A fighter then landing the more ineffective shots!

I told people, Canelo has become the heir apparent to Floyd. People didn't realize what I meant.
