Bernard is trashing GGG because he's the one who is carrying the MW torch after himself, they competitors so I can understand.

(Sad thing is GGG always told Nard was his model but Nard never gave him credit.)

But at the same time, he's supposed as a company man to tell us how Nelo GBP cash cow is great wich is hard to understand if he arguably lost according to 90% of people/boxing insiders to a declining one dimensional fighter.

Overall Bernard is biased and annoying, his pride and GBP job makes him sound like a twat.

And so the truth comes out. They admit it. This is why they waited GGG out. I agree with Hopkins, GGG is definitely on the decline. Still won, barely, but they waited him out for a reason, and now Hopkins admits it. I will never forgive Hopkins or Oscar for ruining a potential great fight, and in my opinion it affects both their legacies, at least how I will remember them. People always say Oscar always fought everyone, BHop always fought everyone, and when I first got into boxing I believed that, but when you study their resumés more closely, Oscar picked Pernell at the perfect time, as well as many others, and so did BHop. So actually, the whole narrative about how Oscar was acting differently as a promoter than he did as a fighter was a lie, in my opinion. Both of them did the same thing during their careers as fighters as they did during this promotion. This promotion only shone a spotlight on that, and them, and caused fans like myself to dig deeper into their resumés to find the truth.

Shame on Bernard Hopkins. Shame on Oscar de la Hoya. Shame on boxing for making the same May-Pac mistake again in the very next megafight. For all the talk of "never again," and Canelo-GGG will be the fight to set right the mistake of overmarinating May-Pac, they ended up just doing the exact same **** again, and overmarinated this one until GGG was 35. 35 is NOT prime age for an offensive boxer. Not even close. And they knew that.

And you know what, shame on Tom Loeffler too, because while he wasn't the one who marinated the fight, he basically stood by. He was OK with it, because he thought it would make more money that way, and he didn't care if his fighter declined in the meantime. He just cared about the money. They used time to substitute for their own laziness, giving the fight years to "ripen naturally" when if they actually did their jobs, they could have hyped up the fight just as much in six months. Look how quickly May-Mac came together because they actually promoted it, instead of just sitting on their asses for years letting the demand ratchet up "naturally" as fans grew frustrated. They could have created that demand themselves with actual promotion, but they didn't, and the fight was another dud, honestly. Better than May-Pac, of course, but no knockdowns, not a lot of clean punches landed. Canelo looked tired all fight because he has a bad gas tank, GGG looked only slightly less tired most the fight because he's old.

Boxing still sucks. These promoters are ruining the sport. "Save boxing," Oscar? More like same old same old ruining boxing. Oscar is no better than Floyd Mayweather.

"Golovkin would like to fight again on a date in December, but his team would postpone those plans if Canelo is willing to fight again in May."

LOL. And so I say again, shame on Tom Loeffler. He is no better. So now they're going to keep GGG on the shelf for 8 more months at 35 years of age? Unless it's for a specific nutritional reason to stay on level terms with Canelo, in which case I support it, but unless it's that, then it's bull****. Why can't he fight in December and then in May? What happened to unifying the belts, then moving to 168? Get the last belt in December, win the rematch in May, and that way he can move up by next fall. But if he doesn't fight again until Canelo in May, then he'll still have to fight again at 160 to get the last belt in the fall.

The GGG critics were wrong about GGG's talent in his prime (yes he actually was a truly elite boxer), but they were dead on about GGG's team. Floyd has the money team, GGG's team should be called the 'Money G,' or something. They don't care about the sport or legacy at all, just money. In the future I will be very reticent about supporting any boxers promoted by Tom Loeffler or trained by Abel Sanchez, who seems a big part of the money-first promotional machinery around GGG as well. All these guys are looking more and more like hypocrites every day.

Oh and did anyone hear Tom Loeffler on the radio shows giving the same line about how "We'll definitely consider Cowboys stadium for the rematch, because just imagine the atmosphere" as he gave going into the first fight, when he knows full well they're going to take it to Vegas again? He was lying through his teeth, far as I can tell. Very disappointing.

"He feels Canelo will once again come away victorious in a second fight". News flash - he wasn't victorious in the first one!

Before anyone says he's getting old because of his style of fighting. Remember, he is the one that said he'll take a punch to put on a show. You can have a longer career if you just chose to move your head a little and step back every once in a while.

Probably the amount of money they would make from the rematch is far more important than belts, mandatories, etc.

If no BJS fight in December, I see GGG waiting for Canelo rematch as long as it takes, with belts or without them.
