I don't see how anyone can say ggg won that fight convincingly but say ward won 1st fight. Ward & canelo both won for same reasons,they both tamed supposed killers limiting them to mostly jabs,& landing cleaner shots on supposed boogieman,Canelo destroyed gggs face way worse. Both fights were very close & take keen eyes to score imo

No, men: this was an exhibition, a sparring, a show case fight... it was a staged fight with a view to squeezing even more revenues from the possible rematch...

Everybody was involved in staging this one: the promoters, the fighters, the judges, the media... that was simply business, with very feeble links to pure sport...

Got no problem with a draw result, regardless of who landed how many what, it kind of felt right at the end as both gave it everything and matched each other the whole way (ok, technically I had Golovkin winning more rounds, but it felt technical).

But Byrd 118-110 ? That's hopefully the end of her career as its as bad as the CJ Ross draw result for Canelo/Mayweather - she delivered the only failure of the night and should be help to account for potentially ruining what was otherwise a great night for boxing. 115-113 Canelo no problem, but 118-110, the marching boots need to go on to get her off to wherever CJ Ross has gone. These guys work too hard and put their lives on the line and don't deserve to be subject to insulting officiating from people who have no clue about the sport. If you aren't entirely convinced by her incompetence, go watch Lomachenko-Walters round 6 right now and explain how she gave Walters that round !

Well a draw sucks. Canelo needs to just knock this guy out and not gamble on the judges in the rematch. He was clearly stringing triple grovel in the mid rounds. Letting him get his hopes up so that he doesn't shy from a rematch. He's gonna give ol gennad a stoppage i'd say by 6 in the rematch. no doubt about that.

Jermall Charlo is going to beat either or both of these guys when he gets the mandatory. Looks like that will be awhile. They just made this rivalry a trilogy.

Golovkin looked pretty basic in there against super mega star canelo. He is lucky he leaves with his belts. He never even rocked canelo. Canelo puts this guy out in the rematch.

I can see that,from my perspective ggg couldn't have won because for absolutely sure he lost 1-3 &10-12, just as I predicted hed lose the championship rds,I based that on him losing last 3 on Jacobs winning those on all scorecards except 1 judge who gave him rd 9 he lost those rds on all cards,& it's because he gets tired from applying nonstop pressure for most the fight while defensive fighters have some in the tank 2nd wind. To me a draw was a fair result even though I had canelo by 7-5 for controlling the fight with cleaner shots & amazing defense just like jacobs did.

yep..... no point in Team-G crying foul when their fighter got off to a slow start, failed to do what he promised, and did not even show up in the championship rounds

Thanks and I am actually working on a forum post right now because as someone who back Golovkin in this fight, Canelo deserves some credit but waiting until May 2018 for a rematch to me is pointless. This at best should be a January rematch with a unification in May if it comes to that.

You read the latest? Now Team Canelo may not even pursue a rematch until SEPTEMBER 2018! .....smh...
