I'm known as gggs #1 supposed hater,& even I'll admit that a draw wasn't a horrible result as this reminds me of Leonard vs Hagler in a way because of the mix of styles. If u prefer pure aggressiveness & nonstop pressure then u can give it to ggg,if u prefer ring generalship, combos, body work, accuracy, making opponent miss & look amateurish at times then youll give it to canelo.

But im not surprised that it was a draw as this is as close a matchup as they come just like ward vs kov. I said in that fight before, that a draw would've been a fair result & that ward would dominate the rematch because he has the superior skills just needed to acclimate to new weight & have opponent figured out in rematch by superior boxing iq & well roundedness.

now Canelo will do what he should have done last time, make Golovkin wait until he is ready

Canelo will improve at 160 as his body adapts to the weight over the next couple of camps, he will get stronger/better..... and Golovkin, will not

      • It seems like this time over 95% of the boxing press and all the known/relevant writers/journalists agreed on this fight. The consensus score was 116:112 and 115:113 for Golovkin with a few Draws here and there.

Badlefthook, HBO and even NSB here has huge polls where boxing fans agree. It was similar to Pacquiao Bradley I.

Even these biased youtube guys like Dontaes Boxing Nation and Thaboxingvoice who shit on GGG every time admitted that GGG won clearly.

That's nonsense media spin anyways, they said they're exercising immediate rematch clause already. Canelo fights in may & September just like floyd used to,so he said hes gonna rest the rest of this yr & see when next year & if fans want it that of course he wants rematch I saw it in another video. THIS FIGHT BETTER HAPPEN NEXT 4 BOTH GUYS SO NEITHER GETS UPSET BY GYPOS LIKE BILLYBOB, THIS WAS FIGHT OF THE YEAR

            • The one thing that never surprises me is idiot casuals who don't know how to score a fight. Its the equivalent to if they were put on the bench to judge a murder trial, they wouldn't have a clue how to judge properly. Byrd is a shîtbag but I completely agree that most judge's get it right most of the time as their the only truly unbiased watching the fight objectively 90% of time. They have put in 1000s of hrs of work for low pay to get to the point of judging championship fights.

Its no surprise that gggroupies were promising to cry robbery if their claims were proven untrue of ggg koing canelo as theyve said repeatedly. Funny how I was saying then that whatever the outcome we shouldn't cry if our fav lost, but gggtards got excuses in early like they will now claim if ggg gets kod in rematch, that canelo kod old ggg,& that the ref cheated 4 him. This is literally ward vs kov 2.0.

              • It was a good fight but GGG won the fight. No one can run backwards 75% of a fight and expect to win.
That said. I'm ashamed to call myself a Mexican. Not cause Canelo LOST but because of his response to a rematch in May. Even fkn Mayweather gave a rematch to Castillo, when most thought Castillo WON the fight.
Canelo FINALLY MET A FIGHTER WHO HITS AS HARD AS HIMSELF. Now, suddenly after the fight when asked about a rematch in May his OVARIES HURT. Maybe it was the fact he forgot to change his tampon before the fight started. Who knows. Pathetic.

So, are you admitting that Canelo's best chance is to wait for GGG to get older and slow down even more? And you have no problem supporting someone that does that? Why was he *****ing and moaning about wanting an immediate rematch because he thought he "won 8 rounds" in the post fight interview, yet backtracks at the post fight presser? He changed his tune pretty quick for someone who thought he won the fight! Why run from someone you declare, "isn't the monster everyone says"? "I'll show him who the true Mexican is" and then jumps on his bike...really?

As far as your assessment, I do agree with you to a certain degree. If that ends up being the case, I'd like to see Jacobs help Canelo "adapt better" to 160...

Hes surely doing that for the same reasons ward did the same about retirement. Because it gives him leverage in negotiating rematch as the clause is surely not set in stone as it would be impossible to know beforehand the economics of the 2nd fight before 1st even takes place. That should be common sense that ggg might try to strongarm negotiations like he did before with whatever leverage he thinks he has.

Ward still gave Kov an immediate rematch, though...my point is, if Canelo honestly thinks he really won then first fight, do what you have to & excercise the rematch clause to do it again in May (because yes, those are his dates now) and win the rematch CONVINCINGLY to not leave any doubts...just like Floyd, Ward, Lewis, etc....
