It's funny: TBRB doesn't hold Canelo as the lineal champ since 18 April 2017, after Saul Alvarez, in answer to a question posed by member Jake Donovan about his middleweight title status on 11 April, stated: “I am not a middleweight champion. I was at one point, but I am no longer the middleweight champ.”

He was forced to, he had court, being sued along with GoldenBoy Promotions by All Star Boxing , where CANELO'S promotional rights were in the air as well as an up to $30M USD lawsuit against him. Most great fighters have lost fights so if GGG loses then bounce back in an even bigger fight the next time. Boxing is about money not winning or losing or about titles. GGG coming off a loss would earn even more money. Hell throw the fight and bet yourself to lose as ggg could do. Wlad did it against Fury.
