What makes you so sure, being the a side he could have picked his opponents, why not charlo bros, Andrade , rematch Lara, but instead he created canelo weight at 155

Its over for GGG either way
I don't think age will play a factor just yet, but GGG only has a couple years left in him at the max.

If he wins and its not a blow-out, he's got the rematch first (big $$$ again), then the WBO belt to hunt down (personal), Jacobs rematch, Charlo, mandos.

If he loses, he might call it a day, else go for the WBC belt which might see him up against Jacobs again, or Charlo. But by then it would feel like his legacy at 160 has already been written, so what would be the point. I would expect him to take the Hagler route and retire.

Not long till GGG retires (could be as early as Saturday), we should enjoy it while he's here.

... he couldn't fight the Charlos or Lara (again) because they are Haymon's fighters (and ODLH is at war with uncle Al)... but Andrade... well, yes, he didn't fight...

And considering who he did fight, none really posed any threat what so ever, could have fought a number of fighters at 160 but was stubborn with the 155 canelo weight

... as I said above: it was ODLH's decision... poor Canelo repeatedly said he will fight GGG next...

and this is why boxers go into depression and suicide attempts after their first loss... only in boxing 1 defeat ruins your whole damn legacy. sht is pathetic. then we wonder why undefeated guys are so protective of their record. this wouldn't be the case if boxers were more active doe. fighting 2 times a year leaves a long time for a loss to marinate.

When you wait until you're 35 to fight your first real challenge you kind of put yourself in that position. Golovkin doesn't really have a legacy because he hasn't fought anyone, Canelo is his legacy.

When GGG gets mopped, he too, like Kovalev, will have to go to the drawing board and fight a bum to get back in the swing of things. GGG should be used to that though. Kovalev though I have respect for because he just fought whoever without any excuses unlike GGG.

PS. Now Kovalev may have made excuses AFTER the fight but whatever.

He was forced to, he had court, being sued along with GoldenBoy Promotions by All Star Boxing , where CANELO'S promotional rights were in the air as well as an up to $30M USD lawsuit against him. All these court proceedings taking place , and they expected CANELO to sign a fight within 15 days & have no training camp.

CANELO would have to give up the weight + half the $ + No training.

It's a no brainer , you vacate and do the fight the fair , normal , traditional way. Then go out and defeat him. Now here we are. CANELO met all of Golovqueen the Goldigging Diva's demands & now we have an Epic Fight.
