anyways off topic, but i always hear fighters that fought cotto that says he's a very hard puncher, floyd said it, pac said it, but it seems like his punches doesnt phase his opponents at all.

marg took his best shot, smile and came forward, was never dropped once. kamegai, same thing, took cotto's best shot and still came forward.
Marga******o got rocked in the second fight actually.

maybe thats because cotto fought pacquiao, maweather, canelo and lost, casual fans only see big fights, and saw only cotto lost.
that's why many guys think he is kinda b- class fighter.it's kinda sad.. but real fans know this mofo is tough..

Casuals are casuals, who cares about their 2 cents.

Losses don't define a fighter, you can't take people seriously who make absolute statements of a fighter based on one loss or even one win. Boxing is more complex than that - styles make fights.

Cotto is an elite fighter who is a lock HOF'er and will also be considered an ATG. He's a complete fighter with no real weakness, and his textbook execution is a great example for new fighters to follow.

If Cotto wasn't as great as he was prime, the wins Margarito and Manny have over him wouldn't be nearly as significant.

The greatest fighters have losses, anyone who puts an undefeated record over other aspects of measuring a fighter is either someone who DKSAB, or an agenda driven ****boi who is a step away from grasping straws in a losing argument.

Golovkin has the talent to go down as one of the greatest ever.

They are both complete fighters with no real weakness or deficiency.

Golovkin is naturally bigger, and while I'm a big believer in weight differences being overrated, in cases like this, it can make a difference.

Saying Golovkin can beat Cotto, even easily, isn't a knock on Cotto, it's about how good Golovkin really is.

When people say someone is making the fight more entertaining they are lying. It's always been the same to hit and not get hit. If your getting hit you're losing. Saying nonsense like that is not different than smiling after getting hit, because that doesn't hurt of course. We know better.

So you really think Thurman beats a prime welter Cotto? Really? I think cotto boxes better than Danny, hits harder than danny & you so Thurman back pedaling for the last 3 rounds. Cotto for sure will not be hesitant a la Danny. You think Brooks beats a prime welter Cotto? Based on what? Spence destroys a prime welter Cotto? Based on what? Cause he beat Brooks? And Crawford hasn't even fought at welter. Lets slowdown a little & see what these guys accomplish. I mean love Bud, but like everyone likes to dissect a fighters accomplishments, Indongo is no better than Clottey...

sr wasnt even floyd's trainer for that fight. and floyd wasnt tryna entertain for shiiet!!! floyd got hit so much in that fight that he didnt like it, that's one of the reason why he went back to his dad since sr is more defensive.

Mayweather Jr. explained Tuesday that due to what he considered excessive punishment received in his most recent bout – a May 2012 unanimous-decision victory over Miguel Cotto – he wanted to reunite with the man who taught him to box in the first place.

Why would anyone care what an mma forum thinks about boxing?

Thurman is more athletic, better footwork, defense, can fight pff the back door. Brook would use his jab like Canelo did and out box him. Crawford disposed of Diaz pretty easily like, who is very similar to Cotto, so yeah I would favor them over him
